Produkt beskrivelse
The Swapper is a science fiction side-scrolling puzzle platformer. The player's character is stuck on a malfunctioning space station and is hunting for a way out. To do this, they must search the station for orbs required to open particular doors and advance in the game. The game borrows several ideas from "Metroidvania" games, in which the player may have to go back through the facility's various rooms to advance.
The Swapper is set in a desolate, moody sci-fi setting. Players use an experimental tool to duplicate themselves and transfer their complete personalities into different bodies to overcome environmental obstacles.
Gameplay
Early in the game, the player is given a portable cloning tool, which they use to solve puzzles and gather orbs. The device has two features: it may duplicate the player character up to four times at once, and you can switch control to any of these copies as long as they are in your line of sight. Once established, the clones will follow the player wherever they go unless the environment prevents them from doing so. For instance, if the player travels to the left, all clones will follow suit unless they run into a wall. This enables the player to carry out challenging tasks, turn on doors and switches and obtain the orbs.
Clones can perish as players do when they fall from a height or are exposed to other environmental dangers. It is reclaimed if a clone passes away or enters the same area as the player physically. Time slows down when utilising the cloning tool, enabling the player to carry out trickier actions involving the clones. One example is to repeatedly create clones higher than the one that is now active and switch control to the new clone while it is falling in midair, repeating this procedure until a clone can reach a secure platform at the top of the region. Gravity has been inverted in some areas of the station at later levels, making the puzzles more challenging.
Key Features
- Imagine problems that are devilishly difficult to solve but are always just a few steps away.
- Wonder: The Swapper's artwork is created utilising clay models and commonplace materials, resulting in original images set in a richly detailed and ominous world.
- Discover: Tom Jubert, the author of the critically acclaimed novels Driver: San Francisco and Faster Than Light, has created a narrative for the game that tells a moving and meaningful story through the game's surroundings.
