For New Year's Eve, Colonel Khlebnikov travels to his son Kirill's house beneath the dead city of Novosibirsk.
But things are not going well for the locals:
- The slime is consuming the tunnels even more.
- Mutant attacks are increasing.
- The valuable "green stuff" that protects locals from radiation illness is running low.
Those in control may have to take harsh steps to ensure the lives of any of the people.
Players can anticipate the traditional story-driven Game experience of the Metro series in this associated development chapter, comprehensive with a newly designed weapon, the deadly flamethrower, claustrophobic environments, and the all-too-common hair-raising tension. Players will follow Khlebnikov's journey and experiences during his final days in Novosibirsk, retraced by Colonel Miller a year later.
Key Features
- A dynamic, compelling, and compelling story based on the Exodus narrative
- Levels with good design
- Gooey, slick, and slimy starting Level
- Flaming weapon
The flamethrower is the only new weapon the DLC offers, so be warned that it will essentially be your only option (except for a brief firefight with AKs). However, it seems like a good idea because the flamethrower is required to accomplish every Level and using it to clear paths and battle mutants seems natural and enjoyable.
The Two Colonels:
Miller follows Colonel Vyacheslav (Slava) Khlebnikov's footsteps to find the satellite map, while Artyom travels to Novosibirsk to find a treatment for Anna's illness. The previous year, Khlebnikov raised Kirill while serving as a soldier guarding the Novosibirsk Metro. While OSKOM, the government of the Novosibirsk Metro, plans to abandon the system, there isn't enough radiation-protection medicine to cover everyone. In response, OSKOM starts forcibly removing serum from the public, sparking unrest. Soon after the Metro enters the civil war, Khlebnikov is forced to defend OSKOM headquarters from the insurgents. However, during the conflict, General Anatoliy Vinogradov (Tolya) uses poison gas, killing practically everyone in the station. Vinogradov (Tolya) admits that the OSKOM command has collected the remaining serum and departed, choosing to poison the Metro to slaughter the remaining populace when Khlebnikov confronts him mercilessly. To make up for being abandoned, Vinogradov (Tolya) commands his soldiers to blow up the OSKOM evacuation train before taking his own life.
Khlebnikov is forced to enter a mutant-infested bunker to acquire the map to Lake Baikal. He discovers the map, but he dies from radiation exposure after depleting his serum dose. Miller enters the bunker in the present and discovers Khlebnikov's body and the map. He reassures Khlebnikov that his death is not in vain, and he vows to get Kirill out of Novosibirsk before departing.
