Yakuza Kiwami coming to Nintendo Switch  

For the first time ever, the Yakuza series is coming to Nintendo Switch. Yakuza Kiwami, a remake of the original Yakuza title, will be released today, October 24th. Switch fans can now finally play as the Dragon of Dojima, Kazuma Kiryu, the charismatic protagonist of the Yakuza Series. Let’s take a look at the features of Yakuza Kiwami and its arrival on the Nintendo Switch. 

Yakuza Kiwami Story  

Yakuza Kiwami is a remake of the first-ever Yakuza game. It follows the story of the series’ most charismatic and beloved protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu. Released from prison years for a murder he didn’t commit to protect his childhood friend Nishki and lover interest Yumi, Kiryu spirals into a web of conspiracies after 10 Billion Yen of the Toja clan goes missing and a mysterious young girl pops up. 

Kiwam’s story is one of the most emotional and over-the-top action stories out there, with the series having a history of providing an in-depth narrative experience with funky game mechanics and funny side activities. 

Yakuza Kiwami features

Enhanced Graphics and Gameplay: Yakuza Kiwami fully upgrades the visual experience of the original Yakuza title with HD graphics, adding more depth and detail to the atmosphere of Kamurocho. with the updated combat mechanics and smoother refined mechanics to match modern standards.

Fighting Styles: Kiryu can now seamlessly switch between four different fighting styles: Brawler, Beast, Rush, and the legendary Dragon of Dojima style. This on-the-go change makes combat dynamic and fun, with each fighting style having its own abilities and skills to unlock. 

Majima Everywhere System: This unique system introduces Goro Majima, who will randomly appear to challenge Kiryu throughout the game. These encounters range from street fights to mini-games, keeping players on their toes.

Mini-Games and Side Activities: Yakuza Kiwami on the Nintendo Switch will boost the same number of side-activities like the original from From karaoke, Gambling, bowling, hostess clubs to pocket circuit racing. With over 70 Substories players can explore Kamurocho to uncover hidden encounters and side stories. 

Japanese Voice Acting: Kiwami features the original Japanese voice cast, the voice acting feels real and adds depth to the already emotionally engaging story of Yakuza Kiwami. The cutscenes are rendered perfectly to match the quality of the voice acting in all its glory. 

Yakuza Kiwami x Like A Dragon Prime Show Release 

October 24th is a special day for Yakuza fans, with Kiwami launching on the Nintendo Switch and the Like A Dragon: Yakuza Prime show simultaneously dropping together. This is big news for all Yakuza fans. The Prime show follows the story of Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima. Players can enjoy the show dropping 8 P.M. PT and the Nintendo Switch launch. 

Summary 

The major concern fans will have is whether the Switch can handle the Yakuza Kiwami and run at a good frame rate with visually pleasing graphics, and the answer to that question is Yes. The game also ran on the PS3 hardware, and with the Switch being able to run Mortal Kombat 1 and Red Dead Redemption, than it will be able to handle Yakuza Kiwami with ease. The Yakuza series is now available on the Nintendo Switch for all Nintendo fans to enjoy and start their adventure in the heart of Kamurocho.
