Escape From Tarkov has long stood the test of time, and its fan base has been ever-growing. Being a hardcore first-person shooter, the game has maintained a loyal fan base since its beta in 2017. Currently, the game is available for PC only and will go on to fully release with its 1.0 update later this year. This has left many wondering if they’ll ever get their hands on Escape From Tarkov on consoles, i.e, the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X|S.

Tarkov Full Release Version 1.0 & Roadmap
Battlestate Games revealed the roadmap for Escape From Tarkov on their social media, with the full 1.0 release by the end of 2025. A series of patches and updates will go live throughout the year with many new changes to the game and its features. The next update (0.16.6.0) is due in May, bringing AI tweaks, balancing changes, and audio improvements to Escape From Tarkov.

- Patch 0.16.9.0 – August 2025
- Full Release Version 1.0 – Late 2025(PC Only)
According to the Escape From Tarkov Roadmap 2025, patch 0.16 is kicking off in May. Followed by patches in June, July, and August & to the final 1.0 Full Release later in 2025. The upcoming May fixes in patch 16.6 include:
- AI Tweaks
- Visual improvements
- Balance changes
- Lighthouse map optimizations
- Shoreline audio upgrades
- A new in-game event

Will Escape From Tarkov launch on Console?
Well, there is some bad news for fans hoping for Escape from Tarkov on consoles. Recently, the developer Battlestate Games’ COO, Nikita Buyanov, addressed the topic during a Tarkov TV episode. Stating the game will release on the Game Boy before it ever comes to home consoles. This joke clearly implies that Tarkov on console is a far-fetched idea and is not happening.
This statement also contradicts earlier statements from the devs in 2020, when a console port for Escape From Tarkov seemed possible. The game was set to launch on Steam 5 years ago; however, there is still no Steam Release. The devs have confirmed that Version 1.0 is their priority before anything else, and possibilities of everything come after Version 1.0.
Escape From Tarkov Console Release is still up in debates with the COO, even humorously shutting down any speculations. Fans will have to wait after the game’s full release later this year.
