At the Game Awards 2024, several fresh game announcements left the viewers surprised and excited for the upcoming year. Among the numerous announcements, the villain in Borderlands 4 was also revealed. Not just this, four fresh vault hunters in the game were also announced. Borderlands 4 is aiming for a release in 2025 in this long-running series. Let’s get an in-depth look at these announcements.
The Borderlands Franchise
Borderlands has been a successful franchise since its inception. We are looking forward to what they have to offer in its latest reveal, Borderlands 4. This FPS genre game has won our hearts with the preceding games, and the spin-off titles have been killing it for the past 15 years. The last game, Borderlands 3 game came out in 2019 which kept the fans occupied for several years but now people are asking for more. The teaser for the game was released at Gamescom in August earlier this year. As the release date for the next part approaches, there is more news about Borderlands 4 that was revealed recently.
Who’s the Villain?
The fans had lots of expectations for more news about the game. We can’t say that the developers fed us with extensive details about the game but we do know who the villain would be in the game. The fans were offered a look into the action-packed adventure that awaits them as the game releases in 2025. In Borderlands 4, Handsome Jack will not be the villain. Then who will it be? There were little glimpses of Handsome Jack in the trailer which led fans to believe it was him. That’s not the case though, the villain will be The Timekeeper. The confirmed villain of the latest edition, he is a ruthless dictator who will rule the people on the deadly planet of Kairos.
Finally, when the new world falls into the inevitable cataclysmic event, it will be up to the Vault Hunters to attack the Timekeeper whose authority will be threatened after the life-changing event in the game. Borderlands 4 seems like the perfect game to start our new year with. Would it be too much to ask for the game to be released in the first quarter of the year?
New Trailer Release
The four new Vault Hunters were shown in the trailer revealed at the Game Awards. Many fans are not happy with the Vault Hunters, however, we are yet to receive more details about this. The Vault Hunters will feature the best and most diverse skill trees ever seen in any Borderlands title. The key feature that will be released in Borderlands 4 is definitely the customization feature in the Vault Hunters. You will be lost in the realm of different zones while you travel easily through these areas, as promised by Gearbox.
Borderlands 4 promotes exploration of the map and will assist you in making the journey easy. Many traversal mechanics were also teased at the Award show, you can now summon a vehicle from anywhere on the entire MAP. You can enjoy this game solo or with your friends in the co-op mode. These were the things teased in the new trailer that was released at the show.
