What are Cores?
Cores in Frostpunk 2 are similar to Steam Cores in Frostpunk. Those are so rare and precious that they can’t be produced or mined, but they’re needed to unlock better technologies to upgrade your city further. If you don’t have cores, then your city would be rather limited in growth and survival.
Unlike resources such as Coal, Oil, or food, Cores aren’t naturally found in New London. They can only be discovered and not manufactured. Cores are mainly used to upgrade the generator in the Central District and build specialized structures, like the Deep Melting Drill or Pressurized Coal Liquefaction.
Where to find Cores?
As Cores can not be produced or mined, the only way to get them is by sending expeditions into the drastic Frostland. They are usually found in high-threat areas, but these spots are also risky for your Frostland Teams.
