The breakout zombie parkour game of 2015, Dying Light, caught everyone off guard. What was expected to be another addition to the already slogging zombie genre. In 2026, Technland introduced Dying Light: The Following, an expansion with a whole new play area bigger than the original Harran map, with new mechanics like a drivable buggy, introduction of larger firearms, and more.

Adding to the already epic saga of Kratos and Atrius in God of War Ragnarok. The Valhalla DLC was a free epilogue chapter addition to the base game with new roguelite mechanics and procedurally generated gameplay runs. The God of War DLC takes Kratos and Mimir to the land of Valhalla, where Kratos must finally come face-to-face with his past.
The Valhalla DLC departs from the traditional GOW 2018, Ragnarok gameplay style and puts the player in a loop structure with adapting enemy mechanics and levels. The DLC also includes:

A Standalone horror-themed DLC for the original Red Dead Redemption, 2010. Undead Nightmare was set in an alternate timeline, starring yet again the gritty outlaw John Marston trapped in a nightmare. Undead Nightmare features a horror theme narrative involving supernatural creatures, overrun towns and freaks across the frontier.
The story involved Marston travelling through the once bustling towns and farms in his quest to cure his infected family. The Undead Nightmare DLC added new weapons, including a blunderbuss, a torch, along with four horses of the apocalypse, each with their own unique ability. The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine Expansion

Lies of P: Overture
The Prequel DLC for Lies of P, Overture, takes players into the past, before the start of the Puppet Frenzy in Krat. Lies of P: Overture adds upwards of 15-25 hours of gameplay, with new areas like the Zoo and expanding the lore exploration. This Video Game DLC also added a host of new weapons for the players to try out, including Death Talon Claws. a gunblade called the Pale Knight, a bow, and more.
Overutre DLC also added to the accessibility of Lies of P, making a few quality-of-life changes. Including easier difficulty options, colorblind mode, and a new legion’s arms with boss rematch mode.

Actually, a time when Rockstar Games made single-player DLCs for their games. The Ballad of Gay Tony, for GTA IV, was released as the second part of the episodes from the Liberty City expansion. Introducing Luis Lopes as a new protagonist, in the role of a co-owner for a club in the underbelly of Liberty City.
The Ballad of Gay Tony added new missions, characters, vehicles, weapons, new music tracks, and a revamped UI. The story revolved around Luis and his friend, and club owner Gay Tony, set parallel to GTA IV’s narrative and the diamond story.
