As the Spirit of the Samurai recently debuted this December, it has become the talk of the town and is a hot play these days. As players from around the world are hopping on it, we are here with 5 tips and tricks for improved gameplay. Read more to know how to perfect your game as you play Takeshi, the samurai in The Spirit of the Samurai
Changing the Default Controller
The Spirit of the Samurai is a stop-motion 2D action-adventure game. It uses the analog stick for movement which does not turn out to be a great idea. Because of the analog stick, the responsiveness of the game goes down, taking us to the first tip. For the game to run smoothly, shift the character movement to D-Pad and item usage to the left analog stick. Doing this improves the movement and attack speed significantly, making each hit fiercer and precise.
Effective Customization of the Attack Combo
Now, this is the tricky part. The game allows gamers to give a customized touch to their set of attacks as they level up. We have a trick for you to survive longer in the game which is to add some short-range attacks to your attack combo. Doing this helps you to attack shielded foes. If you only have far-range attacks, you might miss your foe by just hitting his shield.
Sneak-peak: One of the short-range attacks that opens first is the Cross-Stroke. Leverage it effectively for an easy win against your shielded foes.
Invest Wisely
The Spirit of the Samurai is a game of melee combat. As you step into the game, the stamina is low. Begin with investing your points in building skills instead of stamina as dexterity is the key to overcoming game challenges. As you become skillful enough, invest in strength to make your attacks more fierce. Also, note that you can unlock some attacks only when you have increased your strength to a certain level.
As you work on your skills and strengths, remember that vitality will help you stand attacks longer. So, as you are done mastering your attacks, invest in stamina now so that you can endure attacks from your foes.
Lastly, it is also important to understand that investing heavily in bows can impact your gameplay negatively as they might miss the enemies. The sword should be a go-to weapon in such games. Invest in bows only when you have gained enough dexterity and strength.
Defence Accurately
To win such melee combats, attacking should not be the only focus. Rather, defending well should also be considered. And, for that, we recommend rolling over the attacks instead of landing on a parry.
Kiting the Enemies
You are in Feudal Japan, fighting Oni, his army of Tengu, undead, and the horrifying Jorogumo. The setting is dark and eerie. You are stuck and all enemies flock to you all at once. The game is over.
So, instead of hitting your foes recklessly, it is advised to go slow. If you go about attacking mindlessly, you are likely to push your enemies to areas where other foes await you. These foes might get activated, turning the fight into 1v5 or more. So, draw enemies to you one by one only.
Summary
By now, we hope you know how to survive longer in the quest to defeat Oni and save the village from his wrath. Adjusting controls beforehand, using your points wisely as you invest in strength and skill, customizing your attack combo while using the right type of defense, and aiming at your enemy effectively are some major tips as you jump onto the game.
