The Best Games Where You’re The Bad Guy

I think most of us have wanted to be a villain, without any repercussions of course. There are some games out there that will give you a satisfying experience of being the best bad guy. I think it’s easy to make out when someone in the game you’re playing is a bad guy. The following games will allow you to be the bad guy and allow you to enjoy being bad for once.

1. Red Dead Redemption 2

If we’re talking about villains, an RDR 2 mention was compulsory. The protagonist, Arthur Morgan, embodies the definition of a villain with his heroic and morally questionable traits. This is a great game to sink your teeth into this festive season, with our favorite bad boy Morgan. He is the part of Van Der Linde gang who are involved in criminal activities like robbery, extortion, and even murder.

In the game, you’ll be Morgan as he navigates his life whilst committing these heinous crimes. If anyone did the villain right, it was Red Dead Redemption 2. In this game, players can also choose how the character turns out. You will have tough choices to make but his ultimate choices will align with how he was brought up, as an outlaw. His actions will have consequences and you need to figure out how he can improve them and come to a healthy ultimate solution.

2. Grand Theft Auto 5

A trio responsible for most of the crime that takes over Los Santos, sign us up. GTA 5 was one of the most celebrated games since its inception. Rockstar Games has ruled the gaming industry with its superior innovation and marketing. Before GTA 6 is released let’s talk about the bad guys in GTA 5. If you want to experience a game where your life will be surrounded by criminal activity, following this trio is best for you. Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton, and Trevor Philips are the morally flawed characters of the game.

Michael De Santa is a retired bank robber who betrayed his friends in the past to cut a deal with the FBI. His greed and pursuit of wealth generally resulted in the sacrifice of his loved ones. Michael is not above extortion or murder and will do anything to protect his secrets. On the other hand, we have Franklin Clinton. He wants to quit the criminal lifestyle and lead a simpler life but chooses the path of crime to become successful. He has also betrayed his other friends Michael and Trevor to gain success. And the last of all, we have Trevor Philips. If we were to pick anyone as the epitome of brutality, it would be Phillips. In GTA 5, he runs a drug smuggling operation that profits off of others’ misery. He is the reason for all the chaos in the game. This is what you’ll get if you choose to play GTA 5. Pick carefully.

3. InFAMOUS

In this game, you’ll meet Cole Macgrath. inFAMOUS gives their players a choice on how they want their protagonist to end up. You can make the protagonist a bad guy if you don’t choose wisely. The moral duality of Cole is central to how this game plays out. You can shape his character into a hero or a villain. We’re here to talk about villains so let’s see how he can become one or be considered one.

MacGrath has superpowers which he gains after a catastrophic explosion. You can use these powers to either make the world a better place or make it worse. You can refuse to help people and benefit your character in the game which will indefinitely lead you to become selfish. In fact, in inFAMOUS, his actions are somewhat questionable where he uses his powers recklessly without thinking about the consequences. He will also manipulate the people around him consistently if you want him to become the villain.

4. Prototype

Join Alex Mercer on a spree of criminal activities. He’s the central figure in Prototype. He exhibits the proper traits of a bad guy and we have some reasons as to why. Mercer uses his newfound powers to cause immense destruction. He doesn’t even care about the amount of collateral damage he’s causing. He is extremely violent which causes many civilian and military deaths in the game. A cherry on top of the cake is his lack of empathy as well.

Moreover, he can use his shapeshifting powers to destroy a large chunk of the city which is quite destructive. All these traits combine to certify his bad-guy behavior. Something good about him would be that he is quite indiscriminate in fighting his enemies or even harming civilians. He just doesn’t care about anyone which makes him indifferent to the people in the world of Prototype

5. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

This game hasn’t been released yet. However, there was some news recently where the game seems to have multiple endings. This opens up many avenues for the protagonist and how his life will be in the game. Through a short gameplay walkthrough, we can see that there are destructive options the players can choose in the game. These destructive and diplomatic options will differentiate how the protagonist will turn out to be.

Henry will travel through the 15th Century Bohemia where he will need to kill some men and run away. This could be purely self-defense or even an assigned task by someone. We are excited about the launch of this game because it will allow us to revisit the world of Bohemia with updated graphics and more innovative features. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 does allow the player to figure out their personality and if they can turn their protagonists into a villain.

6. Spec Ops: The Line

Hey, Captain. Good to see you here. Follow the life of Captain Martin Walker with a morally ambiguous character. He’s the protagonist in the critically acclaimed Spec Ops: The Line. This game is kind of his descent into the villain and criminal world. He will appear as a hero initially when he’s trying to help the people of Dubai. Everything will change later as you progress to reveal his darker side.

At first, he disobeys his leader to leave Dubai. This was an initial display of disobeying orders, after this, his arrogance and refusal to accept limitations from his superiors reaches its height. He has a personal sense of heroism which wins every time even if he tries to make a humane decision. Many tragedies take place in the game which could have been avoidable if he made the right decisions. Alas, not everything will turn out sweet a flowery. Enter into the shoes of Walker in Spec Ops: The Line, and discover his lifestyle and actions with an evil tick in your mind.

7. Assassins Creed Rogue

Follow Shay Patrick Cormac as the bad guy in this story. Some perspectives lead people to believe he is the villain. Firstly, he betrayed the Assassin Brotherhood and aligned himself with the Templars. There are a couple of nuanced looks at his motivation to do this, there are multiple implications for Shay’s moral and ethical implications on these actions. Secondly, he also assassinates some of his former allies which leads people to believe in his moral grey character.

His character can be viewed as a self-serving and ruthless character. Some people believe that he is trying to prevent bigger harm to his previous allies but there aren’t a lot of characteristics that match this statement. All in all, Assassin’s Creed: Rogue is a great game to play if you want to enjoy playing as the villain of the game.
