Resident Evil games have been loved by players across the globe and even praised by critics, irrespective of the platform. Given the release of the franchise’s new entry, Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom, the developer and publisher of the RE games, has decided to drop two more Resident Evil games on the Nintendo Switch 2 in February 2026, which is a real game-changer, and calling it a bold move feels spot on. RE games are all about tense survival, jump scares, and resource management that keep you on edge for hours. And February is going to be led with that. Read on below to find out more about all three games coming to NS 2 on 27 February 2026.
Switch 2 Horror Invasion: 3 RE Games Dropping This Feb
By launching not just one, but three Resident Evil titles right as the Switch 2 hits shelves, Capcom is betting big on Nintendo’s massive portable fanbase. This isn’t some safe remaster pack; it’s two extra games alongside the anticipated Resident Evil Requiem, flooding the system with zombie-slaying action from day one. Which also helps in expanding the player base more smartly. Let’s dive in to know more.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
Released in January 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is the seventh main installment in the Resident Evil series. You play as Ethan Winters, a normal guy looking for his wife Mia, who went missing for three years. The game uses a first-person view through Ethan’s eyes. Making the gameplay feel real and super tense. Unlike earlier games with lots of action, RE7 goes back to basics: explore dark rooms, solve puzzles, find keys and items, and hide or fight monsters. That too with a limited amount of ammo, health herbs, and inventory space.

Inside the game, Ethan fights the Baker family, which includes Jack, Marguerite, Lucas, and mold monsters called Molded, that will attack and attempt to kill him on sight. Enemies are tough, and they regenerate to chase you. And to fight them, you can use melee weapons like pocket knives and chainsaws, or stronger firearms such as handguns, shotguns, and a makeshift flamethrower. It’s perfect for horror fans who like slow scares, not run-and-gun.

Resident Evil Village
Resident Evil Village is the sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and the eighth main installment in the Resident Evil series. This single-player survival horror game again puts you in the shoes of Ethan Winters, who searches for his kidnapped daughter in a mysterious village filled with mutant creatures. The survival horror elements are similar to those of the previous games. Where players scavenge for items and manage resources while adding more action-oriented gameplay, with higher enemy counts and a greater emphasis on combat.
It is set three years after the events of Resident Evil 7. Set in a snowy, explorable European village, this one is much larger and more immersive than its predecessor. Furthermore, it’s more action-focused towards combat. Which forces the player to rethink their strategy on whether to use sparse ammunition, use melee combat, or run away. It perfectly blends the survival, horror, and action elements, making it one of the best Resident Evil games on Nintendo Switch 2. This game is also available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Resident Evil Requiem
And finally, the latest addition to the Resident Evil game series, Resident Evil Requiem/ RE 9, is also making its way to Nintendo Switch 2. It takes place about 30 years after the 1998 Raccoon City disaster. That puts the main story in 2027 or 2028. The game goes back to Raccoon City’s overgrown ruins. The city is now a sealed-off wasteland full of old bioweapon monsters. The story follows FBI agent Grace Ashcroft as she checks out strange deaths at the old Wrenwood Hotel. Her search links to her mom Alyssa’s murder from 8 years ago. This pulls her into Umbrella’s dark secrets. Leon S. Kennedy shows up to help. He teams with Grace and a new woman character to fight zombies.
The game blends survival horror with some free-roaming and exploration, alongside intense action. You face scary fights with few supplies in broken places like the police station and sewers. You can also switch between first-person and third-person views to match your style. Grace hides and sneaks, while Leon fights head-on. Moreover, new enemies include a chasing monster and fresh infected types. Although it’s the ninth edition in the series, it aims at balancing the old with the new. Besides NS 2, this survival horror game will also launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on 27 February 2026.

Summary
So these are the three Resident Evil games releasing on Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day, i.e, 27 February 2026. This lines up perfectly with the Switch 2 launch, giving fans instant zombie action on the go. You scavenge for ammo, herbs, and keys while hiding or battling, making the gameplay pure, tense survival fun. This triple launch is a smart move by Capcom to hook Switch players early. Which would also help in expanding the player base and invite more players to the Resident Evil community.
