Location: Where to Find the Beach Cave Heart Piece
Beach Cave can be accessed north of the Suthorn Village. In case you were not so lucky and did not get the Heart Piece on your first trip, you may return here afterwards using fast travel and head to the Suthorn Village. To continue this route, head west to the beach. Beach Cave forms part of the route connecting this beach district with the village, meaning you will have to pass by it on one of the stages.
When coming in from the west, you’ll know that you’re in the right place when you see that the opening of the cave is blocked by a group of Sea Urchin enemies. Kill them and head inside to the Beach Cave to get back on the journey.
Requirement: Get the Boulder Echo Ability
You can find the Heart Piece in the Beach Cave only with the Boulder Echo ability. Of course, with other objects you might be able to do that too, but that’s not exactly the best use of a Heart Piece when you’ve just earned it.
You’ll stumble upon the Boulder Echo simply by venturing out of Hyrule Castle on your first try. You fall into a large hole when exiting the courtyard of the castle, and find yourself in a lateral-scrolling area with a lot of underwater sections. Near the end, a boulder blocks your path. Approach it and press ZR, and you’ll know the Boulder Echo ability – that lets you create boulders and smash through obstacles in your way by bashing them with it.
Walkthrough To Get Beach Cave Heart
After receiving Boulder Echo, follow the instructions below to successfully get the Beach Cave Heart.
- Reach Beach Cave: Immediately after beating a Keese-bat enemy, continue into the cave, and you will see a heart in a room from inside. The chamber is barred by three wooden crates.
- Find the High Platform: It initially seems impossible to reach the Heart Piece because it is hidden behind the wooden boxes. There is a high platform above the chamber from which you could drop the Boulder Echo from to smash the boxes, but how to get there is confusing.
- Find the Climbing Wall: The upper platform is accessible only via a hidden climbing wall of rock. Without looking around, you probably won’t notice it because the game never really tells you that this wall can be climbed. Use this to access the upper platform above the Heart Piece chamber once you see the climbing wall.
Smash the Boxes by following the steps to smash the boxes to find the Heart Piece on this platform:
- Throw the Boulder Echo at the side of the platform so it rolls down to smash the first box.
- Right after you have smashed a box, you will need to push the ZR button to dispel the Boulder. Then make another Boulder Echo, then drop it on the second box.
- Smash the remaining last box in these ways.
- Collect the Heart Piece: Having broken all three boxes, the chamber is open to you. Just walk inside and collect your well-deserved Heart Piece.
