True to Star Wars
From Tatooine’s scuzzy underbelly to the lush environments of Akiva, Star Wars: Outlaws is replete with sets that are as stunning as they are perilous—the protagonist, Vess-is likeable and compelling, free from Jedi powers and lightsabers. Instead, Kay’s got to rely on her wits, skills, and a little help from her animal companion named Nix as she navigates the dangerous waters of the criminal underworld. It is a two-person team that brings life and authenticity into the game.
Encounters and missions rarely feel the same or similar
The developers have gone to great lengths to re-create the aesthetic and atmosphere of the Star Wars universe. It is particularly evident in the sound design, the beeping of droids to the chatter of alien languages in cantinas- it feels plucked out of the screen. This commitment to authenticity helps Star Wars Outlaws carve its niche within the Star Wars canon, set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Gameplay and Mechanics
Being an open-world game, Star Wars Outlaws has a lot to offer:

- Stealing treasures

Strengths and Weaknesses

It’s imposing where the game shines: in its attention to detail, world-building, and the freedom given to players to explore and carve one’s story. That being said, this is not to say it does not have its set of flaws. Yes, some repetitive quests and less-than-great traversal mechanics will dent your experience.
