Reka Tips and Tricks: A Guide for Beginners

Reka officially released on 12th September and it’s flying off the shelves like crazy! Now, who wouldn’t like to live in a witch’s world? It’s fun and creepy at the same time, and that is what makes it a must-have experience. Personally, I have loved witches and witchcraft forever, so this game has become my favourite lately. Here, you’ll play as Reka, an apprentice to the great witch, Baba Jaga. Now, let me give you some Reka tips and tricks, so you know how to begin and have no difficulty with this gem.

Customize Your Appearance

First, you’ll customize your character’s look at the start of the game. If you finish too quickly, don’t stress! After creating your character, you’ll find yourself in a misty area where you can interact with a mirror to adjust your appearance again. However, once you venture too far into the mist, your appearance will be locked in, so make sure you’re happy with your look before moving forward.

Map Generation

The maps in the game are randomly generated after the first area where you meet Baba Jaga, so your experience might differ from other players. Your map markers will be different too, so don’t be surprised if other maps don’t match yours. While the random generation might create some odd-looking terrain or buildings, it won’t affect your gameplay, and you can continue exploring without any issues.

Explore a Lot

When exploring in Reka, make sure to check out every area! Scattered across the map, you’ll find places like abandoned houses, wagons, carts, and even graveyards. In these spots, you might find chests and sacks you can loot. Inside, you could discover money or furniture, which is great if you want to decorate your house. Some of the furniture and decorations found in the chests are pretty, so don’t forget to search the forest well!

Carry Berries

Berries can come in handy if you are looking for the Lutki. These log-like creatures bounce around and, when given a berry, will reward you with something in return. Lutki villages can be found anywhere, so try to keep a handful of berries on hand at all times.

Sleep to Change Day or Night

It might seem simple, but you can change the time of day by sleeping. But you need a bed for that. You can get a bed by completing a fetch quest for an NPC who asked for food. If you’re looking for a bed, try finishing quests and searching any chests you find while exploring. Once you have a bed, you can choose to wake up during the day or night. While it doesn’t seem to affect much, it does change the lighting. So, if you prefer nighttime, you can use the bed to skip the day and enjoy the night instead.

Rescue Animals and Bring them Home

While exploring the maps in Reka, you’ll come across traps. When you find one, you can break it open, and sometimes you’ll find animals like hares inside. You can either let the hare run free or pick it up and teleport directly back to your house. Once you’re near your home, you’ll have the option to make the hare your pet. If you choose yes, the hare will become a placeable item in your house.

Decorate Everything

Finally, don’t forget to decorate everything! A big part of Reka’s gameplay is customizing and decorating your house. Don’t let those items sit in your inventory! Use them to create your perfect, witchy cottage. You don’t need to use everything, but adding more items can really boost the cozy, maximalist vibe. You can also stack items. If your table’s full, no worries, just place books or a skull on a chair! Plus, you might find unique structural elements. For example, we completed a quick quest to make pumpkin soup and unlocked a new window design.

Summary

I hope now you’re ready to take on the challenges well in the game. These Reka tips and tricks should help you win the game as a beginner, and I am sure you will explore more as you progress. The spells, the chicken-legged hut, the mystical world, all of this is seriously so cool! If you love it, do recommend it to your friends as well!
