Ready or Not has finally hit consoles with an impressive sale of 2 million units within just two weeks. With this, the action shooter game is finally available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as well. The release came with a new update called Los Suenos Stories, introducing new missions, weapons, and more. The game has received two DLCs so far. These include Ready or Not: Home Invasion and Ready or Not: Dark Waters. For this blog, we will take a closer look at the latter. Let’s dive in.
Ready or Not Dark Waters DLC
The second major DLC for Ready or Not, Dark Waters, became available on December 10, 2024. It included three maritime-themed missions, new weapons, new mechanics like an aerial thermal camera, new clothing, AI updates, and more. Here’s everything included:
New Missions
Dark Waters brings three new large-scale, maritime-themed missions:
- Mirage at Sea: A luxury yacht seized by terrorists.
- Leviathan: An oil rig overrun by heavily armed extremists.
- 3 Letter Triad: An abandoned island, used as a base by drug traffickers and terrorists.
New Weapons
A total of six new weapons were introduced, many of which focus on medium to long-range engagements:
- H&K G3 A3 (Battle Rifle, 7.62x51mm)
- H&K HK51 (Compact 7.62x51mm)
- FN SCAR-H (7.62x51mm)
- H&K MP5SD6 (Suppressed 9mm SMG)
- Remington 590M (Mag-fed Shotgun)

New Gear and Cosmetics
- V.B.S.S. (Visit, Board, Search, Seizure) wetsuit/operations uniforms
- Eli-Tec helmet, Sallet T5X helmet
- TP-1E Carrier and Phantasm LS-911 carrier vests
- Phoenix Flight Suit, Phoenix Gloves, Panama Boots
- ATLAS PRO Top/Pants, Oakley-style gloves, Salmon 4D GTX boots
- Three new tattoos: Tentacle’s Embrace, Tiki Fury, Oil Veil
Gameplay Features and Updates
- Weapon Cache System: In new missions, enemy AI can find and equip new weapons from caches, making encounters more dynamic and unpredictable.
- Helicopter Support and Aerial Thermal Camera: All three missions include support from a Coast Team UH-60 Blackhawk, featuring helicopter callouts and the ability to use a thermal imaging system for reconnaissance.
- New Loading Animations: Unique first-person reload and loading animations specifically for Dark Waters missions.
AI Improvements
- Smarter SWAT and suspect AI behavior, including enhanced tactics around doorways and weapon usage.
- Suspects and SWAT can run out of primary ammo and switch weapons, and AI will use caches to rearm on Dark Waters maps.
- Adjusted accuracy and new behaviors for both suspects and allies.
Quality-of-Life Upgrades:
- New ‘arrest canceling’ function lets you break off arrests and avoid being shot mid-arrest.
- New SWAT nameplates and blue/red glowsticks for easier identification in multiplayer and HUDless modes.
- Updated voice acting and radio chat for in-mission communications.
Other Changes
- Trophies and achievements are tied to the new operations.
- New visuals, environmental effects, and challenges suited to multiplayer and tactical play.
Note: The new weapons and some other features are included for all players, while the special missions and cosmetics are DLC-specific. The Ready or Not Dark Waters DLC was launched alongside a major base game patch that addressed numerous bugs and improved overall game balance.
Dark Waters DLC marked a significant expansion of Ready or Not’s tactical range, introducing new environments, enemy behaviors, weapons, and gear, and continuing support for tactical realism and multiplayer depth.
