They release some classic themes last December for PlayStation 5 to celebrate their 30th anniversary. This was a move to generate nostalgia and make gamers recall PlayStation’s journey through the years. It has been barely 2 months and now these themes are being removed already. Why are PlayStation 30th Anniversary Themes Being Removed?
“Thank you for the fantastic response to the classic PlayStation, PS2, PS3, and PS4 limited-time console themes, which will be leaving tomorrow,” PlayStation said on Twitter. “Due to the positive response on these 4 themes, we’re doing some work behind the scenes to bring these special designs back in the months ahead.”
It looks like they have more work and enhancements to do on these themes before they come out permanently. They have promised these PlayStation themes will be back soon, but we don’t know when. The Twitter post received 3.5K+ comments from gamers and fans who were not so happy with this removal. Let’s hope for these themes to come back soon! Moreover, PlayStation also said that there are no plans currently to create additional themes in the future. So, probably, only these removed themes will be returning with some improvements and enhancements.
When were PlayStation 30th Anniversary Themes Launched?
PlayStation celebrated its 30th Anniversary and dropped 4 new themes in December 2024. These dynamic PlayStation themes were launched as throwbacks to its classic consoles. Gamers could enjoy these classic PlayStation, PS2, PS3, and PS4 themes on PlayStation 5 out of nostalgia for those old and gold days.
They could change the appearance of their home screen and other areas, modifying the PS5 design per their choice. Though these themes were launched temporarily, they became greatly loved by gamers and they wanted them to be permanent. Hopefully, they will come back permanently when re-released.
