Phantom Blade Zero was first announced in 2023 by S-Game, the developers, and finally, our wait is over for the first look. It is now being compared to Black Myth: Wukong for similar Chinese themes and culture showcased in their videos.
The trailer begins with a young man, Soul, walking into the battlefield and then getting surrounded by a hoard of enemies. He yields a unique powerful sword that is shaped like a snake and starts fighting the enemies effortlessly. The combat is super fast and Soul takes them down pretty quick with intense swordplay and some special abilities. The trailer ends with the protagonist practicing swordplay with some solid movies and showcasing different powerful weapons.

The trailer features 2 snake-themed weapons which grab our attention. These weapons are inspired by the traditional martial arts in Chinese culture. These weapons were particularly used in old Chinese movies and have been loved by audiences forever.
- Weapon no. 13 – Soft Snake Sword: A super long venomous sword that is good at both attack and defense.
- Weapon no. 27 – White Serpent & Crimson Viper: A pair of 2 swords of different lengths. Using them together in battles will be a great powerful combo.
Soul, The Protagonist
The young man we see in the trailer is Soul, a young assassin. He is wrongfully accused of murdering the head of ‘The Order,’ a powerful and shadowy organization. Fighting and escaping enemies, Soul was brutally injured but rescued by a mystical healer. Now he has recovered but has a lot to do to fight the evil organization and clear his name. But the problem is that he has only 66 days to find out the truth. Will he succeed?

The graphics and visuals are created with the ultimate Unreal Engine 5. This makes everything appear so lifelike, including the characters, environments, and combat. The Chinese elements like the attire of characters, the weapons, and so on, also look amazing. The reveal trailer is captured on PlayStation 5 as mentioned on screen and showcases the game’s cinematic appeal very well.
