No Man’s Sky Aquarius Update: Overview

Hello Games have finally introduced the long-awaited fishing and underwater exploration mechanics to No Man’s Sky in their recent Aquarius Update. Players can now finally fish different species of fishes and alien creatures and dive deep underwater, and explore the unknown with the Deep-Sea Diving suit and more in this latest update. Let’s take a look at the new features and additions.

Overview

After the No Man’s Sky Worlds Part 1 update, the game got massively overhauled with entirely new additions and changes to the existing world in No Man’s Sky; this saw a surge in the player count to such heights for the first time after its release, due to the higher player count and positive reviews it was evident that Hello Games would be capitalising on the success and will introduce more mechanics to the game.

With the latest Aquarius update, players are introduced to a wide array of new mechanics, features, and additions related to the game’s water physics.

New Features

Fishing: With the newly added fishing mechanics, players can now fish across the planets, finding a wide variety of Fish and alien catches. Players can fish alone or with their friends across different biomes.

Exo-Skiff: A personalised hovering craft for players to take their fishing expeditions to the deeper ends of the biomes. Players can utilise and control the Exo-Skiff as per their command and use it as a forward base.

Recipes: With new fish and weird alien catches come even weirder recipes, with a wide array of recipes and ingredient combinations waiting to be discovered.

Deep-Sea Diving Suit: Hardened against the extreme conditions beneath the light in the dark, the Deep-Sea diving suit is perfect for underwater exploration or a relaxing fishing afternoon.

Aquarius Poster Collection: Decorate your fishing shacks with the Sea Chart, Bounty of the Sea and Gone Fishin’ posters.

Aquarius Expedition

The Aquarius update comes along with a brand-new expedition the player can take on. The Aquarius expedition begins today and will run for approximately six weeks, inviting players on an interstellar quest to catch fish, gather stories, and reflect on the one that got away. Completing this journey rewards players with a beautifully crafted set of deep-sea customisation parts, including an exclusive underwater jetpack that enhances their aquatic adventures.
