After Mojang released the 1.21 Tricky Trials update for the Java Edition of Minecraft, they plan to roll out a new update soon. The upcoming update is expected to be bigger than the first one, with new changes and features being added to the game. It is also worth noting that the 1.21.2 update for the Java edition of Minecraft has no release date so far, as the developers haven’t revealed it yet.
New Editions to Minecraft in 1.21.2 Update
Fast Crafting
Mojang recently introduced the fast crafting mechanic, which helped players craft the same item without the hassle of adding the same ingredients on the crafting table in the same pattern. This is now made easy with the fast crafting mechanic, with players now having the option to craft the same individual items by selecting a recipe from the green book on the crafting table and, placing the initial few items needed to craft the recipe and then pressing space to place the items again and again in the same spot making crafting faster and much easier.
Banner Patterns
Two new banner patterns are also debuting in the Java Edition, and both already exist in the Bedrock version of the game.
The Field-masoned banner can be easily assembled by placing a piece of paper and a block of brick on the crafting table, and the Bordure pattern can be made in the same manner by replacing the brick with a vine.
Reduce FPS
A major optimization change is also coming to the Java edition with the introduction of the Reduce FPS feature. The new feature will automatically reduce the game’s FPS while the game is minimized or inactive. This feature can be toggled in the game’s settings and greatly reduces the strain on your PC while you are AFK or performing some other tasks while you are gaming.
Options include:
AFK/Inactive: FPS is limited to 30 if the game hasn’t received input for 1 minute, and further limits FPS to 10 after 9 minutes.
Minimized: Only limits FPS to 10 when the game is minimized
Bundle Changes
- Updated textures, models and sounds for bundles.
- Bundle icon has new models and textures.
- The bundle UI has new textures and scaling.
- Added a new sound for when failing to add an item to a bundle.
