According to DanielRPK, an insider who broke the news of Sony currently casting Middle Eastern of an unknown AAA project set to release somewhere by the end of the decade in 2028. The report while not concrete has made fans speculate it’s for Santa Monica Studios God of War Series. This will not be the first time rumors of God of War being set in Egyptian Mythology have circulated on the internet.
The original plans for the 2018 revival of the series were to take Kratos into the land of the Pharaohs, as suggested by Cory Barlog himself, the creative director of the God of War games. But the plans for an Egyptian setting were scrapped in turn for the Norse Mythology setting of God of War (2018) & God of War Ragnarök.
