Since its release in November 2024, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has been a hit with players across the world. The game has hit many sales milestones and shipped over a million copies and has started to churn in profit for GSC games, after hitting record numbers on the Xbox and PC. The game being stuck in development for years and GSC Games delivering a masterpiece despite the many issues (One of them being a literal Invasion of their home country, Ukraine) is commendable. The game launched to mostly positive reception from fans and critics alike, with it being called a through and through STALKER experience.
Well, it is also worth noting the game launched with its fair share of bugs and glitches, which GSC games have been working tirelessly to improve the quality of their game. Even going forward with their latest update to the game addressing over 1800 bugs in the game with its biggest update to date. GSC has been focused on providing players with a smooth and seamless gameplay experience, along with delivering high-quality content for the game. The game is currently available for the Xbox Series X|S and PC, with many PlayStation fans hoping to see a port for this highly anticipated game on the PS5.
Recently Ievgen Grygorovych, the Director for STALKER 2 Heart of Chornobyl had this to say about a PS5 port.

This news might deal a blow to the hopes of PlayStation fans hoping for a port of STALKER 2 on the PS5, with Grygorovych stating that GSC has been “fully focused” on the development and support for the Xbox and PC version of the game. When asked about the recent leaks and rumors of the alleged three-month exclusivity period for the game on Xbox and then a debut on the PlayStation 5. The director has this to say “We do not comment on leaks, rumors, or speculation. We reiterate that the PC and Xbox Series X/S versions of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 are the only ones we have developed and support”
While these statements come directly from the director, this does leave a little wiggle room for the release of STALKER 2 on the PS5. The game has enjoyed much success on both the Xbox and PC versions and a PlayStation release is not something to count out as of yet. The current circumstances for GSC have their hands full with the improvement of their beloved title and the conflict in Ukraine is still not over.
It might be some time before we see a STALKER 2 release on the PlayStation 5, at least the alleged three-month exclusive deal coming to an end can be counted out for now, and a release of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl on the PS5 in February along with it.
