Nether portals in Minecraft are gateways to the Nether which is basically the Underworld of Minecraft, completely opposite of the Overworld. The Nether real can only be accessed through a portal made of obsidian, today we will take you step by step on how to make one for yourself and conquer the Netherworld.
Resources Required:
Obsidian X14
Flint and Steel X1
Step 1: Obtain Obsidian
Find Lava: To obtain obsidian players have to venture into caves or underground chasms to find lava, Obsidian can be made by pouring buckets of water onto hot lava.
Mine Obsidian: Use a diamond or Netherite pickaxe to mine the obsidian blocks. You need at least 14 blocks to build a portal.
Step 2: Flint and Stone
Flint: Obtain flint by breaking gravel blocks. You can also get flint as a drop when gravel is mined.
Iron Ingot: Smelt iron ore in a furnace or blast furnace to get iron ingots. Iron ore is found underground in veins and must be mined with a stone pickaxe or better.
Craft Flint and Steel: Place the Iron Ingot and flint in the sequence shown below to craft a Flint and Steel
Step 3: Portal Formation
- Place the obsidian blocks in a suitable location 4 blocks Wide and 5 blocks tall, Make it as if you were making a frame for a gate
- Now Take the flint and Steel and go near the portal
- Activate the Portal by using the Flint and Steel on the inner part of the portal
