The latest update for Minecraft is a terrifying one, with the new Pale Garden Biome update. This new update will add a new spooky biome to the game, with grey foliage and dark grey trees making up the biome. But something more sinister lurks in the Pale Garden, a brand new enemy mob, The Creaking. Follow our How to Defeat the Creaking Mob in Minecraft guide to help you slay your very first Creaking mob.
Step 1: Locate the Creaking Mob
Creaking is native to the Pale Garden Biome in Minecraft and will only spawn at night. Dense, ashen-colored oak trees and a dark atmosphere can easily identify the new biome. Watch out for glowing yellow eyes as the Creaking mob blends perfectly with the trees, thanks to its bark-like texture. The three glowing yellow eyes can identify it.
Step 2: Understand Its Attack Pattern
Make sure to keep your distance while fighting this new terror, as the Creaking is not a traditional mob, and your attacks will not do it any harm. The Mob will only move towards you if you’re not looking at it. Once you turn to face it, the mob will freeze in place, making it essential to keep your eyes peeled.
Step 3: Find the Creaking Heart Block
When the player attacks the Creaking, they will notice the Mob emit particles out of it, leading towards the direction of the Heart Block. The Heart block like the name suggests, is the key to defeating this new mob. The Creaking Heart block is hidden inside trees in the biome. It’s an orange block that needs to be destroyed.
Step 4: Destroy the Heart Block
Once the player has located the heart block by following the particle trail, break the block to eliminate the Creaking. By destroying the Heart Block, players will be able to kill the Mob once and for all.
How to Summon the Creaking Mob
To summon yourself the Creaking (why would you want to do that now?), make sure your tools have the Silk Touch Enchantment. Locate a Creaking Heart Block and collect it. From the biome itself, collect a few blocks of Pale wood.
The Creaking Heart will only activate when it is placed between and aligned with pale wood blocks, turning orange to indicate it’s active. After the Heart is activated, the Creaking will spawn. You must destroy the Creaking Heart block itself, not the surrounding wood, to despawn the Creaking Heart block.
