Borderlands 4 is all set to arrive in 2025, the exact date as of now has yet to be confirmed. People can still vividly remember when the first installment of the Borderlands series came out. The game was a massive hit; according to sources, it sold over 2 million units by the end of 2009. Over the years, the series has come a long way with 3 major installments and the fourth one dropping next year.
Borderlands games are renowned across the world for their loot-driven, multiplayer co-op gameplay. The best part, the game has humor involved in it as well. The games are set in an open world with some RPG elements as well. Coming back to Borderlands 4, here is what we know so far.
Borderlands 4 Trailer
When we take a look at the official trailer of the game you won’t find any gameplay there. All it portrays is the tone Gearbox is trying to set here. In the trailer, you can see a planet that is supposedly either being attacked or seized from somewhere. New enemies? Extraterrestrial forces? We can only make guesses as of now. At the end of the trailer, you can see a robot or a humanoid (subject of debate) looking at the iconic Borderlands mask. According to the CEO Randy Pitchford, that’s not Handsome Jack but something far more dangerous. This has sparked a lot of curiosity amongst the fans. Maybe it is Jack 2.0? Maybe a successor to Jack?
Borderlands 4 Gameplay
As mentioned earlier, it is all up for guesses as of now but the vibe the trailer has portrayed it seems as if this installment is going to pack a lot more action than the previous ones. The structure of the game won’t be subject to any change we think. Just like previous Borderlands games, you will take on the role of a Vault Hunter smothering enemies and trying to gather as much loot as possible in the new planet. There isn’t much to worry about as the game will still be a looter shooter.
This game won’t be taking place on Pandora, unlike the previous installments of the game that featured the planet. This came as a surprise to the fans. It will be really interesting to see how Gearbox managed to impress the fans with the new planet. The fans may love it or the Pandora nostalgia might hit them. The game will also be featuring 4 new vault hunters as expected from the Gearbox as they have a tradition of including new playable characters. Are any of our favorite heroes returning to the game? There has not been an official statement yet.
Borderlands 4 Platforms
Borderlands 4 will be launching on all the major platforms such as PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X. 2K Games has also approved that the game will also launch on Epic Games and Steam. When it comes to the older generation of consoles such as PS4 and Xbox One, Gearbox has not confirmed its availability. Maybe they will, but as of now, no firm decision has been made yet.
To Conclude
Borderlands 4 is all set to release in 2025 with no confirmed date as of now. Known for its action, loot, and humor the game is all set to make a mark on gamers. While there isn’t too much information available on what the game is going to be like, we do have a trailer that gives us a small glimpse. The game is set to take place on a new planet, Pandora might be disappointed. Gearbox has not blessed us with gameplay as of now but judging by what we see, the game is going to pack a ton of action. Also, our beloved Handsome Jack isn’t there this time but something more dangerous and sinister awaits, says the CEO Randy Pitchford. The game will launch on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and popular platforms like Steam and Epic Games.
