As a third-person shooter game, players have long wanted the ability to customize their weapons, may it be their scope, laser, flashlight, or magazine. And additionally, there are many more features to uncover. In this blog, let’s explore Helldivers 2 new update: weapon customization, enemies, and more.

Helldivers 2 New Update

Weapon Customization in Helldivers 2

Now, we’ve finally received what we’ve always wanted in Helldivers 2 – weapon customization! You might be wondering which weapons can be customized: melee weapons, pistols, primaries, or support? The answer, for now, is that players can only customize their primary weapons, which brings both good and bad news.

The Design Director, Niklas Malmborg, mentioned in a recent video that they might add attachments for all other weapon types, including sidearms and melee weapons, in the future. But for the time being, we can only customize our primary weapons.

As you progress and unlock different attachments, you’ll be able to tailor your weapon according to your preferences and combat style. The customization options differ from weapon to weapon. For example, for the weapons with the most attachments, players can change their magazine, muzzle, underbarrel, optics, scope, adjust ammo capacity, and, most importantly, skins and patterns.

New Illuminate Enemies in Helldivers 2

Stingray Jet Fighters: These swift jet fighters provide the Illuminate with air superiority, actively spotting Helldivers and delivering precise open-fire runs. This makes them a high-priority target for any advancing ground team.

Crescent Overseer: Unlike standard Illuminate units, the Crescent Overseer can unleash barrages that bypass cover, forcing Helldivers to constantly reposition and rethink their defensive strategies to avoid being caught in the blast radius.
