Good News for Beyond Good and Evil 2 Fans

After more than a year, Ubisoft finally revealed some good news for fans of Beyond Good and Evil 2. Set to be the sequel to the 2003 Game Beyond Good and Evil, the second iteration has now been stuck in development hell for a little over 15 years now, and the game is a long way off from a release anytime soon. Lets take a look at the latest update from Ubisoft and, finally some good news for Beyond Good and Evil 2 Fans.

New Creative Director on board

Ubisoft confirmed Beyond Good and Evil 2 is still in development with Fawzi Mesmar, now joining the team as the creative director for the game. Mesmar updated his LinkedIn with the news, thanking the team for their creativity and his hands-on experience working with Ubisoft for the last few years.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 was jeopardized after the tragic death in 2023 of Emile Morel, the previous creative director for the game. Now, with Fawzi Mesmar in the top position, we can surely say the game is in good hands. Fans can trust Mesmar’s thought process and have faith in his developmental and leadership skills.

Long awaited release and development

Beyond Good and Evil 2 was first announced way back in 2008, and since then, the game has been in a constant development hell with Ubisoft revealing bits and pieces of information without a clear concise image of the game. The game, over the years has seen some light of day with new updates from the developers, but then succumbed back to the shadows.

Fans are concerned that the game’s long development time might cause it to lose its original identity and become something else entirely. This is yet to be seen, as Beyond Good and Evil 2 is still years away from launching, and it will be a long time before a new trailer for the game is revealed.

Summary

Fans can be assured of the game being in good hands as Fawzi Mesmar is a veteran of the gaming industry and has worked on popular gaming titles such as Star Wars Battlefront 2, Battlefield 5, Beyond Good and Evil anniversary edition, and more. If anyone can steer the development of Beyond Good and Evil 2, then it’s Fawzi. We can expect new updates from the team going forward, and maybe finally, after the long 15 years, there is still a chance for a great game to come back to life in the modern gaming world.
