Fortnite: How to Convert Doom Guards

Hello, Fortnite fans! Want to add the most powerful Doom Guard to your squad and turn the tables in a battle? You’re in luck. This blog will cover everything you need to know about Fortnite: How to Convert Doom Guards. This is an easy process that will seriously help you on the battlefield!

What are the Doom Guards in Fortnite?

These heavily armed NPCs are the patrollers of some of the map’s most intensive points of interest. They’ll guard critical locations such as Castle Doom, Doom’s Courtyard, and Doomstadt. These fellows wield considerable power, but here is the good news: You can flip them on your team!

Here’s the breakdown of how to convert a Doom Guard and have them fighting alongside you:

1. Find a Doom Guard

First things first, you’ll want to find a Doom Guard. As mentioned, check a location like Castle Doom, Doom’s Courtyard, or Doomstadt. Look for these armoured NPCs roaming around.

2. Down the Doom Guard

Then, you will need to take down a Doom Guard. Easier said than done, right? Well, fight him and knock him down, really, like any hostile player. A smidge of firepower, some well-placed shots, and BOOM! Down he goes.

3. Resurrect the Doom Guard

After you have killed the Doom Guard, please walk up to them and press the revive button. Yes, it’s just like renewing one of your teammates! After they get back up, they will change sides and fight for you.

Your newly converted Doom Guard will now behave in the same fashion as a hired NPC: following you everywhere, fighting alongside you, and helping you dispatch all of your enemies. Remember them as that little extra teammate who watches your back until they fall!

Essential Things to Remember!

One Doom Guard Per Player: You can resurrect one guard at a time only. If you are playing solo, then that would be an extra partner you have in your team. In team modes, every player in your squad can resurrect their own Doom Guard, meaning you could have, or better yet, get a little army if you coordinate with your teammates!

The Doom Guards are different from the Henchmen at each dig site on the map, and the mechanics to convert them differ, too – for now!

Where to Find Doom Henchmen for Dig Sites

Should you be part of Doom Henchmen, you’ll find them patrolling dig sites. They can be found scattered across the map in locations such as:

  • Northwest of The Underworld
  • Northeast of Rebel’s Roost
  • Southeast of Doomstadt
  • Grand Glacier
  • South of Grim Gate
  • Northeast of Nitrodrome
  • Summit Temple
  • Brawler’s Battleground

While you can defeat the henchmen at these locations, adding them to your roster is unavailable now, even if you’re working on the Week 2 Quest, “Hire characters or recruit defeated henchmen.”

Pro Tip:

Use the default NPCs on your Battle Royale map for this quest. And watch out for the future update, as Fortnite technically loves playing things differently every time!

Summary

Having a Doom Guard on your team could change the whole game, especially in the middle of a firefight. Always remember the gist: find, down, and revive. Once you get it all down pat, you have a consistent ally to help you flank the enemies!
