Fans Uncover Location of the New Battlefield Setting

EA recently announced the New Battlefield game during its latest earnings call and, through an exclusive with IGN, revealed the first concept art for the game. This sent fans of the series into speculations about the game’s new setting and location. Battlefield fans were able to put two and two together and identify the location of the next Battlefield game. Let’s take a look and break down any new details or info about the new entry into the series.

Where will the New Battlefield be set?

The first concept art for the upcoming Battlefield showcased an entire city turned into a war zone with multiple military units fighting across the city and a firestorm pushing downhill into the city. The concept art is similar to the tone of Battlefield 4, with its greyish hues and blueish hints, looking similar to the art style of BF4 and BF3.

A content creator named TheTacticalBrit posted on X, formally Twitter, stating that the concept art looks similar to the British Colony of Gibraltar, which borders Europe and Africa and is an important strategic point in the Strait of Gibraltar. Journalist and Video game insider Tom Henderson agreed with TheTacticalBrit, who posted the image, pointing out the striking similarities between Gibraltar and the city depicted in the concept art for EA’s upcoming shooter.

What can the Fans expect

EA is returning Battlefield to its roots, with its latest entry being set in a modern setting, and the game is taking inspiration from Battlefields 3 and 4. EA also confirmed the latest battlefield will be returning to the 64-player maps with a focus on fast-paced combat, which was the essence of Battlefield games. After the debacle of Battlefield 2042 and its failure to revive the series, the developers are focused on providing fans of the series with the ultimate all-out war experience and gaining back their trust after the constant failure of the last two games.

With the reveal of the concept art and the location seemingly being in Gibraltar, it is safe to assume that the next game will be set in Europe and might end up featuring a World War 3 scenario like Battlefield 4, which took the multiplayer maps set across multiple regions across Russia, China, Europe, and more.

The Next game might also end up following the same formula. With the concept art taking place in Gibraltar, we can assume global conflict across Europe and parts of Africa, setting the stage for Global warfare and new scenarios for players to take part in.

Conclusion

EA has promised fans a far more engaging Battlefield experience with Four studios, namely DICE, Motive, Ripple Effect, and Criterion, working on the title. The next game is termed as the most ambitious project in EA’s history with the company going forward at full speed to make sure the next game in the beloved franchise isn’t a bust. While the New Battlefield is still a year away from launch, fans can try out the older Battlefield titles still being played today with active player counts and community events right here on Driffle and prepare for war when the latest Battlefield drops next year in 2025.
