A bit of wonderous news for Death Stranding and comedy fans as the late-night host and comedian Conan O’Brien might be making a comeback in Death Stranding 2. Conan also made an appearance in the original Death Stranding along with many AA-list Hollywood celebrities like Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, and the well-known voice actor Troy Baker. Now it seems that Conon O’Brian will be making yet another cameo in the mind-bending title by Hideo Kojima.
Death Stranding Cameos
Hideo Kojima is one of the most legendary figures in the gaming industry and his devotion to the craft of Video Games is a tale of itself. Death Stranding was the first brainchild of Kojima as his first launch for him and his own studio Kojima Productions. Long has a penchant for casting famous personalities for his projects and in this case Death Stranding.
The original Death Stranding had its fair share of cameo in it with the likes of Hirokazu Hamamura (Famitsu editor-in-chief), Geoff Keighley along with more. One prominent one was of Conan O’Brien as a projection in the game who interacts with the player and awards them a reward after completing a side quest.

O’Brian recently revisited his cameo in the original Death Stranding being in a segment on the Clueless Gamer along with guest Aaron Bleyaert. Both were playing the original Death Stranding Director’s Cut. With Conan reflecting back on his cameo in the game and his visit to Kojima Production in Japan, where he met Hideo Kojima and Kojima offered to scan him for the game. After much comedic struggle while playing the game, Conan called Hideo and asked him to help him with finding his cameo in the game with Kojima directing him. And hinting at a potential future cameo of Conan O’Brian in Death Stranding 2 On the Beach, and to rescan Conan at the Kojima Productions Studio.
How to Find Conon O’Brian in Death Stranding
Advance till Chapter 3: Players need to advance through the main storyline until Episode 3: Fragile. This will unlock access to new regions and facilities, including the Cosplayer’s Shelter where Conan’s character can be found.
Locate the Cosplayer’s Shelter: The Cosplayer’s Shelter is located southwest of South Knot City in the Central Region. Look for it near a river and marked terrain. It can be a little tricky to spot, but by using your map and scanner player will be able to identify the facility.
Complete the Delivery Task: To meet Conan’s character, you’ll need to deliver an item to the Cosplayer’s Shelter. Once you fulfill this delivery, the shelter will connect to the Chiral Network.
Meet The Wandering MC (Conan O’Brien): After connecting the shelter, players will be greeted by Conan’s hologram. And acts as the real life hosts himself with hit witty humour and jokes.
Completing the delivery task for Conan O’Brian rewards you with the Sea Otter Hood, a unique item that helps Sam float more effectively in rivers and water bodies.
