Everything you need to know about the New Battlefield Game

Recent reports have come in, and fans of the Battlefield series will be delighted to know that the next iteration of the series, the New Battlefield Game, is set to take inspiration from BF3 and 4. It will feature a present-day modern setting and bring forth many changes, taking the series back to its roots and bringing hope for a revival after the debacle and failure of Battlefield 2042

What’s the News

Fans of the series will be happy to know that DICE and EA are looking forward to taking the Battlefield series back to its roots and putting the game in a modern, present-day setting. Recently, IGN had an exclusive with Vince Zampella, the Head of Respawn and group GM for EA Studios Organization. Zampella confirmed multiple factors regarding the New Battlefield and also revealed the concept art for the game.

Concept Art & Details

While not much has been revealed about the game, we can speculate and take into account Zampella’s statements, which revealed a few details. While EA refuses to name the city in the concept art, if the concept art is part of the final design, we can assume that the game has a tone similar to Battlefield 4 with its greyish hues and blueish hints.

Battlefield 3 and 4 are some of the most popular games in the modern FPS setting. The games are played to date even though the titles were released decades ago. This shows the winning formula for a Battlefield Game, with loyal fans clinging onto older titles that provide a vast array of content for the game in a setting that fulfils all criteria for fun gameplay and mechanics.

Everything you need to know

Back-to-Basics Approach: The next Battlefield game is returning to its roots, particularly inspired by Battlefield 3 and 4, considered the peak of the series, with a modern setting.

Focused, Well-Designed Maps: Vince Zampella stresses the importance of smaller, well-designed play spaces instead of large, unwieldy maps. They’re testing what makes gameplay the most fun and attracts the average gamer.

Smaller Lobbies: Battlefield 2042’s large 128-player maps were unpopular, so the game is moving back to 64-player modes, which focus more on fast-paced combat rather than the slow crawl towards victory.

No More Specialists: The Specialist characters from Battlefield 2042 are being removed for the good. The next Battlefield game will return to the good old class system, which has been a core aspect of the Battlefield experience.

Learning from Battlefield 2042: Zampella doesn’t consider Battlefield 2042 a failure but acknowledges the lessons learned. EA aims for the next game to be strong right from the launch.

Multiple Studios Involved: Four of EA’s in-house studios (DICE, Motive, Ripple Effect, and Criterion) are developing the next Battlefield game, making it one of EA’s most ambitious projects.

Core Battlefield Audience Focus: The New title will focus more on regaining the fans’ trust through audience engagement and community-driven testing.

Call of Duty Rivalry: Zampella believes Battlefield has the potential to outsell Call of Duty, but that’s not the primary goal. The developer focuses on providing an experience unique to the Battlefield name, separating it from other FPS titles.

Summary

The New Battlefield is going to be EA’s most ambitious project yet, as it is one of their most crucial IPs. Production is underway, and the game is opting for a 2025 release date. EA also plans to launch a community program next year to regain the trust of Battlefield fans. Fans will have to wait and see what the next title holds. While the new game is still a year away, players can enjoy previous Battlefield titles right here on Driffle and get on to raging war across different periods and settings.
