Europa Review

If you love Studio Ghibli’s movies, Europa is the closest thing you’ll get to a Ghibli game. Europa offers many things in one: a journey, quests, and an exciting storyline. Staying true to its genre, this Indie game has taken over the gaming industry. It was released on 11th October and is the first of its kind. Many people have been comparing it to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild; however, it does not resemble that game at all. Check out the following Europa review to understand the game in depth and determine if it’s for you.

The Studio Ghibli Graphics

Well, to begin with, the best thing is the graphics. The game is very Studio Ghibli-esque, and nobody is complaining about it. The colors and 3D characters are equally cute and drawn to perfection. The game has a calming environment that draws you in from the beginning. Suppose you want to relax while on a quest; this is the perfect game. It feels like a Studio Ghibli interactive movie where you can determine the character’s fate. If you’re a fan, you’ll love this game.

The Narrator

As you begin the game, you’ll have a narrator lead you through the game. The narrator’s soothing voice matches the soundtrack and environment perfectly. The entire game has little notes left behind by someone for you to read. These notes have some of the most beautiful quotes and anecdotes that’ll keep you entertained for a long time. Finding the narrator’s notes won’t be difficult as they are pretty hard to miss.

Gliding and Movement

The gliding in Europa is pretty smooth. One of the best things about this game is the precise and smooth movement of the characters. Being an Indie game, it has set pretty high standards for the rest of the gaming industry. The movement is pretty soft, and ASMR moves from one place to another. Light tapping of the character’s feet also changes the sound on different surfaces, which shows how intricately detailed this game is.

Gameplay and Missions

If you have heard that the gameplay and missions can get boring, it’s true. However, we would urge you just to keep going. The missions seem repetitive initially, but they start changing as you get closer to your ultimate destination. Missions are pretty juvenile considering other games but stay fun because of the entertaining environment and relaxing storyline.

Zen Mode

There is a zen mode in Europa. In this mode, the few enemies you face become less ruthless and won’t cause any damage. The game gets more manageable for you. You can relax and have fun in this mode. There’s no rush. The perfect mode to relax after a tiring day. If you don’t want to put a lot of effort into playing a game, try out the zen mode in Europa!

Final Verdict

Alright, the Europa review is over, and now, for the moment, we have all been waiting for! The Driffle rating: we rate this game a fair 8.5/10. This rating is based on the game’s beautiful environment, smooth gameplay, and the following quaint storyline. Along with this, the extra .5 is for the relaxing soundtrack. It’s a truly genius game. We wish the game were a little longer and more challenging, but maybe it’s not meant to be that way. Hoping for a sequel soon.
