Dying Light Visual Update: What We Know So Far

One video game that has stood the test of time is surely Techland’s Dying Light. The original is a cult classic among zombie survival game fans. Techland recently released the Dying Light 10th Anniversary Bundle along with information on a visual update for the original. The update while not a full remaster will bring significant visual upgrades to the game along with new additions. Let’s take a look at the Dying Light Visual Update and what we know so far.

The Orignal Dying Light is now officially 10 years old with its initial release on January 27, 2025. Launching on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC with good reviews from fans and critics alike. The game sold 5 million copies in its first year with a total of 20 million through its life span. Dying Light even after a decade has maintained a dedicated fan base with its constant content updates.

Techland has supported their beloved title with updates to date even after the release of Dying Light 2 Stay Human. The developers over the years have introduced new updates and DLCs for the game. The first major expansion for the game was The Following DLC, introducing a new map, new story, missions, a drivable buggy, and more. The updates also include new enemies, cosmetics, weapons, characters, and more.

The visual update for Dying Light is set to be released very soon in the coming few months. Currently, we have no look at the update but Techland has confirmed a few things coming to the game. The Dying Light Update will include:

Visual Overhaul: The developers will overhaul the current engine of the game pushing the Chrome 6 to its limit. The game will boast significant visual upgrades and will also receive tweaked textures & environments in certain sections. The visual upgrade might not be groundbreaking but will breathe fresh air into the game and make it more appealing and stable on next-generation systems. 

Remastered Soundtrack: One of the most loved features of the original Dying Light was its brilliant and beautifully haunting soundtrack. The original composer Paweł Błaszczak will be returning to remaster the soundtrack and bring new music to the game for the next-gen upgrade.

Cutscenes Enhancements: The Dying Light Nextgen Update will enhance the in-game cutscenes with improved lighting, textures, shadows, and more. 

One of the best things about the update is that it will be completely free for all players. Dying Light is currently available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Windows, and PC.
