The Devil May Cry franchise for the longest time has hit a road bump. With their latest offering, Devil May Cry 5 dating back to 2019, it is unsure if the fans are hopeful of any new releases or not. But! Here’s some news that might ease the pain of a lot of fans. The Franchise is all set to release the Devil May Cry anime. The announcement was made on Twitter by Netflix. 

Anime Overview

The Devil May Cry anime takes inspiration from the 2005 hit, Devil May Cry 3. It focuses on a young Dante who is on a mission to avenge his mother’s death. You will see him fighting and eliminating demons that pose a threat to the balance between the human and the demon realms. So yup! A lot of action. The series will consist of eight episodes with all of it being released at once. Good news for fans who hate waiting for an entire week for the next episode to drop. 

The Team Behind The Devil May Cry Anime

Studio Mir has done a great job at selecting the cast of this anime. The man behind Dante’s voice will be none other than Johnny Yong Bosch. Struck a chord? Yes! The same voice behind Nero in Devil May Cry games. Adi Shankar will be the one directing the anime who has previously directed Castlevania. The writer is Alex Larsen who previously garnered a lot of attention through the series Yaskuke. 

Key Characters

Coming to some of the key characters in The Devil May Cry, you will see the following:

Dante: He will be the main protagonist of the anime. He is a skilled demon hunter with expertise in wielding firearms.

Vergil:  He is the brother of Dante, who happens to have a complex relationship with him. His presence in the anime can add more depth to it. 

Lady:  A devil hunter who happens to become an ally of Dante

Devil May Cry Anime Release Date

The anime will drop on April 3 on Netflix. It won’t have a weekly schedule like other animes and fans will get to binge-watch the the entire series at once.
