Dead Island 2 Adds New Game+ and new mode with latest update

Dead Island 2 was the long-awaited sequel to the original Dead Island title that was released in 2011. Now Dead Island 2 has gotten a new update which adds a New Game+ mechanic and a brand new game mode in this Open-world, vibrant zombie slasher. Along with further bug fixes and patches, let’s take a look at Dead Island 2 new update, the new game modes, and more.

Patch 6 and Brand New Modes

Dead Island 2 had a good start, with the game selling over 3 million copies on launch and adding a plethora of updates post-launch. The new patch for the game, called Patch 6, is available now to all those who own a copy of Dead Island 2. It adds two brand-new modes along with bug fixes and performance fixes for the game. The two modes are:

New Game+

Fans will now be able to play the entire game from start to finish, while retaining their character progression along with all their gear and skills. After completing the story the players will get a prompt “New Game+ Unlocked”. We recommend going till level 30 and then starting the New Game+ for a more challenging playthrough and unique rewards.

Neighborhood Watch

This new game mode is a three-player co-op mode that mixes shelter defense gameplay with rogue-like mechanics. Players can start the brand-new mode from the main menu regardless of where they are in the main campaign. The new neighborhood watch mode brings several new game elements along with brand-new weapons for that fun zombie-slaying action.

Patch 6 also brings various changes and tweaks to the Sola Festival DLC in Dead Island 2. First, the Dirge encounter has been rebalanced, reducing the difficulty of the fight. The game has also received stability and performance improvements, making the experience smoother and more enjoyable.
