Behavior Interactive has announced a new crossover for its survival horror game, Dead by Daylight, and fans are going crazy over it. This crossover will add a new chapter to Dead by Daylight and introduce characters from The Walking Dead. Two new survivors and an iconic new skin will be added with this update, which is currently in testing and set to release by the end of July. Let’s dive deeper into the new Dead by Daylight characters from The Walking Dead crossover.
Dead by Daylight X The Walking Dead
Behavior Interactive will add Rick Grimes and Michonne as new playable survivors in the Fog of Dead by Daylight. Along with the survivors, a new skin from The Walking Dead Collection will transform another Survivor and bring Daryl Dixon into the game. This expands The Walking Dead Collection lineup with Rick’s Last Day on Earth and Brutal Awakening outfits, Michonne’s The Next World and What We Become variants and several Uncommon recolors for both characters.
The new Dead by Daylight characters will debut in the update releasing at the end of July. Even more exciting, Walking Dead veterans Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) and Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) will reprise their roles by voicing their characters.
The crossover reveal trailer also showed a glimpse of the haunting ‘Don’t Open, Dead Inside’ hospital door from the show’s opening episode. Additionally, players can expect new map elements, including the prison from Seasons 3 and 4 of The Walking Dead. These will appear when Rick or Michonne are loaded into the Garden of Joy map.
Besides the crossover content, the update will include balance adjustments to killers, including the Executioner, Clown, Pig, Knight, and Oni. It will also introduce a new Survivor item, the Fog Vial, along with various bug fixes.
Dead by Daylight Rick Grimes & Michonne Perks
Rick Grimes and Michonne each bring three unique perks.
Rick Grimes Perks
- Apocalyptic Ingenuity: Search chests to gain the ability to place a Fragile Pallet where a Broken Pallet once stood.
- Come and Get Me: After unhooking someone, crouch and stay still to activate an ability that conceals injured and dying Survivors’ sounds and blood trails. In exchange, your Aura is briefly revealed to the Killer.
- Teamwork, Toughen Up: If another Survivor near you stuns or blinds the Killer with a Pallet while you’re injured, your sounds of pain, Scratch Marks, and blood trails temporarily vanish.

Michonne Perks
- Conviction: Heal other Survivors to activate Conviction. When you’re down, you can quickly get back up for a short time. If Michonne fails to heal in time, she becomes Broken and drops again.
- Last Stand: Stay within the Killer’s Terror Radius without being chased. Then, if you fast vault near the Killer, you can stun them for a short duration.
- Teamwork, Throw Down: Stun the Killer with a Pallet, and nearby hurt Survivors gain Endurance for a while and can see the Killer’s Aura.
Crossover Release Date
The crossover will be live with the new update on July 29, 2025, introducing characters from The Walking Dead into Dead by Daylight. The update is currently available in the Public Test Build (PTB) since July 1, 2025. However, due to known technical issues, Michonne isn’t playable in the PTB, though players can test her three perks. She will be fully available as a playable character once the final update is released on the following platforms:
