The Silent Hill remake developers, Bloober Team, crushed it with Silent Hill 2, and they are not stopping. They’re already showing off what they’re working on next – Cronos The New Dawn. Cronos The New Dawn is a blend of horror, sci-fi, retro, and brutalist aesthetics. The gameplay mechanics are inspired by Dead Space, Dark Souls, and Resident Evil. The game also includes time travel, where you have to bounce back and forth between the past and the future to help save the world.
Cronos The New Dawn is set in a grim world where Eastern European brutalism intersects with retro-futuristic technology. You work as a traveller tasked to wander in the wastelands of the future in search of time rifts to dive back in time to 1980s Poland.
In the past, you would see the world in the throes of ‘The Change’, a cataclysmic event that forever altered humanity. Meanwhile, spine-chilling abominations overrun the devastated wasteland of the future.
Most importantly, the game features deadly monsters that can merge and grow larger and stronger. You’ve got to use your skills to their full potential and make quick decisions. All the monsters run towards you, and you’re incentivized to kill them separately from each other. And for that matter, the main strapline of the game is – DO NOT LET THEM MERGE.
Also, these creatures won’t stay dead for long. The only way to stop them? Burn their bodies And do it fast.
Cronos The New Dawn Release Date and more
Cronos The New Dawn will become available this year, anytime soon. As the Bloomer team has just released the trailer, they’ll soon announce the release date as well. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. We are not sure yet whether the game will be available on Game Pass or not, but we’ll keep you posted.
The game also draws inspiration from The Thing, 12 Monkeys, and Eastern European Dystopia. This time, Bloober team has pushed the game into a little but of more challenging direction. Additionally, there are other travellers as well, and only they can survive in the environment of the future setting in the game.
