Concord Release Date & Details

It’s time to snap into the supercharged world of Concord! With a fusion of Overwatch’s frantic action and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy space-faring adventures, Concord will be a pulse-pounding project living with a story. If you’re tired of the same old hero shooters, here’s Concord Release Date & Everything you need to know!

Bookmark this guide, as we will unpack every juicy detail regarding Concord, including its release date, beta access, character roster, gameplay modes, and more.

Concord will officially launch on August 23, 2024, for PS5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Sadly, players on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox platforms will have to wait for this one for now.

How to Play the Concord Beta

Can’t wait until August? No problem! You can jump into the action early with the Concord beta in July 2024. There are two beta phases:

Early Access Beta: July 12-14, available to those who pre-order the game.

Open Beta: July 18-21, open to everyone.

Both beta phases will feature 16 characters and four maps: Freewater, Shock Rise, Star Chamber, and Water Hazard. Oh, and a little later into the beta, a map called Bone Mines will join the fray.

How to Get Early Access

Pre-order Concord and get access to the beta early, plus bring yourself and four friends in together. You can pre-order through Steam, the Epic Games Store, or the PlayStation Store and receive five beta access codes.

Concord Advanced Access

Concord has prepared an Advanced Access period for all early birds out there. Pre-order the Concord Digital Deluxe Edition and enter the game three days before the official release date of August 23, 2024.

Concord Story

What really sets Concord apart is its strong narrative. Within the game, both macro and micro storylines continue on a weekly basis with unique cinematics. Follow the misadventures of the Freegunners as they flee Crater City under the relentless pursuit of the evil Guild. Each character has their own storyline, making the universe come alive with depth and richness.

Of course, the 16 strong characters have different abilities and personal strengths and weaknesses. Further, they subscribe to one of the six different Crew Bonuses that provide specific buffs:

  • Anchor improves the quality of healing received.
  • Breacher reduces dodge/evasion cooldown.
  • Haunt allows for faster movement.
  • The Ranger reduces weapon recoil.
  • Tactician allows quicker weapon reloads.
  • Warden extends the functional range of all guns.

Concord belongs to that genre of fast-paced first-person PvP 5v5 online-only hero shooter. Think Overwatch meets Valorant with a twist: it’s a fight between two five-guy teams in various game modes, each character bringing with him his strengths, weaknesses, and abilities. Firewalk Studios ensures that microtransactions will be applied only to cosmetics. No pay-to-win shenanigans here!

There are six objective-oriented game modes you can blast your way through in Concord:

1. Elimination

In Elimination, two teams face off against each other, trying to outscore their opponents by collecting kills. It is an ultra-simple and extreme form of pure PvP gameplay. The team with the most kills towards the end of the match wins.

2. Occupation

Occupation divides players into the roles of either attackers or defenders. This means the defending team holds positions in certain areas on the map, while the attacking team has to kill all defenders or capture all the places. As a result, strategic planning and teamwork are required; players work together to fortify defences or execute a coordinated attack to victory.

3. Salvage

Of course, particular items are scattered around the map, and the players must gather these items for protection to gain points. This mode will bring out an aggressive playstyle since teams may frequently fight for these highly valued items. Stealing said items from enemies is possible, allowing additional strategy and action.

4. Signal Hunt

Certain areas on the map turn on as objectives. Each team has to hold these areas safe from the opposition until the timer goes off. Players will need to balance offensive and defensive strategies in this mode since the key to success is holding these zones.

5. Trophy Hunt

Each team begins with a set of trophy cards. The objective is to steal as many cards from the other team as possible and collect them. This model is a cross between Capture the Flag and King of the Hill, where the player needs to defend their cards and be über-aggressive about pursuing the enemy’s cards.

6. Zone Control

Teams compete to capture and control three designated zones on the map. Points will be awarded depending on how many zones your team has controlled. Of course, more areas controlled by the team mean more points. This model is focused on coordination and area denial because, for the simple reason, it is essential to maintain multiple zones if you want to be victorious.

Summary

There you go—everything about Concord! As if it wasn’t good enough, with an engaging storyline, many characters, and fast-paced action, Concord has already beaten the competition in hero shooters.
