Code Vein 2 is set in a broken future where humans and Revenants, vampire-like humans, are living alongside each other, but the delicate balance between the two is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of a strange phenomenon that is referred to as the Luna Rapacis. This dark force resembling a reddish moon drives the Revenants to insanity and they become ferocious and demented monsters known as Horrors. You take on the character of a Revenant hunter, one of the very few who can still withstand the power of the Luna Rapacis. In the course of this battle, you come across Lou, a girl of mystery who has the rare and dangerous power to control time. The two of them realize that the world in the present is going to be lost if they do not use force alone to save it, so they come up with a plan that is nothing short of desperate. They will go back in time to find out the roots of the Luna Rapacis and stop the disaster before it has unfolded completely.
