Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Road to Launch

In its latest blog post, Treyarch announced some minor and major changes coming to Call of Duty Black Ops 6 ahead of its launch on October 25th. After garnering feedback from the Black Ops 6 Open-beta, the developer received an endless amount of feedback from the fans. Let’s take some of these changes coming to the game on Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Road to Launch.

The devs have taken into consideration the fans’ feedback regarding the game’s cover placement and map sizes. With a variety of Maps available on launch, Treyarch will implement these new changes and cover placement.

Spawn System

After Gathering two weeks of player data from the open-beta of Black Ops 6, the devs can now fix the multiple issues with the spawn issue. Many players complained about the Spawn being too random, and players were barely surviving before getting downed by other players. The player’s data will now help Treyarch fix this issue and refine it much further for the launch of the game. “ we’re always assessing our spawn system and will continue to make necessary updates to it through launch and beyond.” Treyarch said.

Performance

Performance is one of the major issues that Treyarch is working on. The dev is working on general script errors, addressing issues related to the in-game user interface, and making overall improvements and fixes to the asset streaming. The team was able to hitch down on many issues before the Beta came to a close, stating that smooth game performance is paramount to the player experience.

Weapon Changes

Players tested multiple weapons throughout the Beta with a variety of Assault Rifles, SMGs, Shotguns, Pistols, and more. The devs will be bringing a few tweaks here and there in terms of the Headshot damage and Bullet penetration of some weapons in the game. The headshot multiplier is being reworked, and the bullets are doing far less damage through penetration, aka Wallbang. These changes will be in terms of balancing out the playstyle and providing a comfortable playfield to the players.

Movement

The Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Beta gave way to a lot of memes and trolls online with the omnimovemnet feature of the game. Being hilarious in many ways but being a thorn in the side for many. The game will see a few changes to player movement and tactics.

Improved Animation Fluidity: Enhancements made to slide, dive, jump, and prone animations to match the 1st and 3rd person views for better immersion.

Slide Adjustments:

  • Reduced time before entering supine during a slide for better balance.
  • Reduced the chance of “dead slides” by shortening the time before sliding after sprinting.
  • Slightly shortened the maximum slide duration.

Intelligent Movement Settings:

  • Found in the Movement tab (Controller or Keyboard & Mouse settings), covering Sprint Assist, Mantle Assist, and Crouch Assist.
  • Mantle Assist issues from the Beta were fixed to improve directional movement.
