Bloober Team Teases Future Collaboration with Konami

Recent reports have come in from the developers of the Silent Hill 2 Remake, Bloober Team. The developers have hinted at yet another collaboration with Konami after the release of the Silent Hill 2 remake on October 8th. The Bloober team had big shoes to fill with the responsibility of remaking a beloved franchise game and one of the most well-liked psychological horror games of all time. Let’s take a look at the reports and what the developers had to say.

Silent Hill 2 Remake and the responsibility

Recreating Silent Hill 2 from the ground up with a new engine and completing over-hauling the original 2001 game is no easy task. The original was released over two decades ago at the Blight of the new millennia. Bloober team had big shoes to fill in terms of recreating the original and providing the fans with a faithful remake, with Konami trusting the team with their beloved IP.

Silent Hill 2 Remake features overhauled graphics with up to 4K upscaling with new gameplay elements, character models, new areas to explore, and a lot more packaged into one. The remake is made from the ground up on the UNREAL Engine 5 with enhanced visuals and dynamic sound features.

New Collaboration

In a recent interview,  Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno hinted at the possibility of his company and Konami furthering their partnership even more. With Konami being real pleased with the Silent Hill 2 Remake and the Bloober team’s capability as a developer for even more projects. The interview discussed the company’s finances and potential earnings from the Silent Hill 2 remake. Babieno also stated that the company expects that “this is not the end of the adventure with Konami.” Indicating Konami’s appeasement and potential to pursue more projects with the Bloober team at the helm.

Konami and Remakes

Konami has recently invested in its older games, with the Bloober team taking on the Silent Hill 2 Remake and Konami, with its development team, handling the remake of the beloved Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater as Metal Gear Solid Delta in-house. While both games are promising faithful recreations of the original, it is still too early to judge, with Silent Hill 2 releasing on October 8th and no release window for Metal Gear Solid Delta. Konami is betting high on the remakes as, in recent years, the company found its way into many controversies and flops after the departure of Hideo Kojima from the company.
