Battlefield 6 will be going back to old 64-player count maps with an emphasis on smaller, more detailed maps rather than the big, empty spaces that plagued the latest Battlefield 2042. The next game is set in a modern setting, as confirmed by the studio itself. Fans also uncovered the game’s concept art to be the British colony of Gibraltar in the Strait of Gibraltar, a major strategic point between Europe and Africa.

Popular Gaming insider site InsiderGaming reported a few new details on the game. The weapons, map count and a BattleRoyale mode. There is no official news on any single-player or story mode for Battlefield 6 yet. Still, InsiderGaming claimed that the next game will be set somewhere between the year 2027 and 2030, and the story mode will revolve around a massive private military group fighting against the forces of NATO across multiple locations around Europe, USA & Africa. DICE reportedly aims for 45 Weapons at launch, nearly double that of BF 2042 and 10 multiplayer maps at launch.
