Battlefield Studios

The next Battlefield game is set to be the biggest project in EA history, with its four in-house studios working together to bring the next generation of Battlefield Games. The development overview showcased the creation of the Battlefield Studios with DICE, Motive, Ripple & Criterion all collaborating together to create the biggest Battlefield to date.

Battlefield Studios

DICE: At the helm of the next Battlefield game, DICE is leading the development, spearheading Battlefield 6’s multiplayer experience, refining destruction mechanics, class-based gameplay, vehicles, gadgets, and an extensive arsenal of weapons.

Motive: Focused on crafting chaotic multiplayer maps and delivering a cinematic experience, Motive aims to blend intense action with storytelling. Motive is working on multiple maps across the multiplayer, plus assisting in the BF6 Battle Royale Mode.

Ripple Effect: Developing a brand-new Battlefield experience, strongly rumored to be a battle royale mode designed to attract a fresh wave of players, similar to Call of Duty: Warzone.

Criterion: Collaborating with other studios, Criterion is assisting with the development while also taking charge of specific elements. Criterion is also tasked with delivering an engaging single-player campaign, returning to Battlefield 6.

Battlefield Labs

Battlefield Labs

EA is treading carefully this time around and not following the sheer debauchery of Battlefield 2042. The company will be hosting playtests for players across North America & Europe with the new Battlefield Labs system. Players can sign up for the invitation and test the maps, vehicle, gunplay, modes, etc. There is no guarantee that everyone who signs up will be able to participate in the playtest. But this is your chance to be part of the new battlefield and refine the experience along with the devs.

How to Join the Battlefield 6 Beta

Currently, there is no official update on the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, as EA is yet to reveal it during their live reveal on July 31, 2025. Some Battlefield 6 leaks have surfaced online, hinting at the Open Beta going live on August 4 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. EA officially confirmed the beta will feature two different loadout options:

Open Weapons: Any class can use any weapon.

Closed Weapons: Traditional class-locked setup. Signature weapons are specific to an individual class. For eg, the Sniper class will only be able to use Sniper Rifles, DMRs’s and other long-range options.
