High on the heels of Battlefield 6’s open beta, DICE and EA have just released a brand new update for Battlefield 2042. The new update adds a fan favourite classic map, two new weapons, vehicles, and exclusive awards for Battlefield 6. Let’s take a closer look at all the new changes and additions coming to Battlefield 2042 in update 9.2.

Battlefield 2042 New 9.2 Update
New Map: Iwo Jima

The return of Iwa Jima from Battlefield 1942, 1943, and the recent Battlefield 5 is a much-welcome addition to the list of Battlefield 2042 Maps. The remastered Iwo Jima will feature an active volcano in the revamped 700×200 map. Be on the lookout for spectacular in-game events. The Iwo Jima map will also feature new boat landings, bunkers, fields, and trenches to fully immerse the player in the Pacific theatre of war.
New Weapons in Battlefield 2042
KFS2000 (Assault Rifle)

A formidable bullpup assault rifle, known for its iconic look and previous iterations in Battlefield Games. The KFS2000 is a highly accurate rifle, perfect for close to medium range engagements. With its bullpup design, it offers higher stability and control over the gun’s recoil and sway. KFS2000 will be available for all players to unlock in the new Battlefield 2042 Update 9.2.
Lynx (Sniper Rifle)

The semi-auto anti-material rifle is a straight shooter with a heavy payload. The Lynx has a higher magazine capacity for its ability to cause damage to vehicles and buildings. Unfortunately, the Lynx will only be available for players who participated in the Battlefield 6 Open Beta. For those who didn’t partake, the rifle will arrive sometime later.
New Vehicles in Battlefield 2042
A-10 Warthog & SU-2FTM Frogfoot
Every aviation nerd has probably heard about the Gatling-wielding attack jet, the A-10 Warthog. The A10 is capable of firing missiles, high-caliber Gatling gun rounds, and flares, perfect for taking out tanks and armored targets. On the other hand, the SU-25TM Frogfoot is a single-seat twin-engine attack aircraft developed by the Soviet Union. It is capable of firing dual rotatory cannons and a barrage of missiles to take out infantry or armor.
Both Jets will be available to all players with tweaked abilities, configured into proper vehicle busters.
Road to Battlefield 6 Free Battlepass
The new Battlefield 2042 battlepass is available from August 18 to October 7. Commemorating Battlefield Games’ legacy through 60 free tiers of rewards and over 50 rewards for past Battlefield titles. Including Battlefield 1, Battlefield 5, Bad Company 2, BF3, and BF4. Along with 30 exclusive awards for the upcoming Battlefield 6.
The Battlefield 6 awards will be locked behind tiers, with each unlocked tier rewarding the player with exclusive items for the launch of Battlefield 6. The reward tiers are Tier 8, 19,30,40,49, and 60 in the Road to Battlefield 6 Battlepass.
Portal Themed Event
A new Battlefield Portal-themed event will run from September 2nd to 30th with new rewards for participating. The playlist will include the Best of Portal, rotating game mode experiences in 48-hour intervals. The playlist will feature some of the best developer and community creations from the Battlefield 2042 portal mode. With rotating modes for a fresh gameplay experience every other day.
