The Assassin’s Creed series will be developed by Emmy nominees Roberto Patino (DMZ, Westworld, Sons of Anarchy) and David Wiener (Halo, Homecoming, The Killing), who will serve as creators, showrunners, and executive producers. Though details about the storyline are scarce, it is expected to center on the secret war between two shadowy factions: one aiming to control and manipulate mankind’s future, and the other fighting to preserve free will. The series will follow characters across pivotal historical events as they battle to shape humanity’s destiny.

The Assassin’s Creed games were also adapted into a live-action film in 2016, starring Michael Fassbender, Frank Marshall, Arnon Milchan, and more. Directed by Justin Kurzel, the movie grossed $240 million worldwide on a budget of $125 million. The story revolves around Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) on death row, saved by a secret company. They use a machine called the Animus to send him into the past in 15th-century Spain, where he relives the life of his ancestor, an Assassin. He learns fighting skills and joins the modern-day Assassins to stop the Templars.

Assassin’s Creed Series Release Date

Currently, there is no official release date or cast announced for the Assassin’s Creed series.
