Nintendo hosted its first Nintendo Direct yesterday following the release of Nintendo Switch 2 in June. The previous event highlighted everything we needed to know about the new console. This presentation focused on third-party games coming to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in 2025 and 2026. A total of 25 game reveals happened during the event. These include highly anticipated titles such as Cronos: The New Dawn, Borderlands 4, EA Sports FC 26, and more. Nintendo Direct Showcase 2025
Nintendo Direct is a series of online video presentations produced by Nintendo to announce and showcase upcoming games, consoles, updates, and other major news directly to fans. These presentations are typically pre-recorded and streamed worldwide via Nintendo’s official channels, providing content straight from Nintendo’s developers or partners rather than through traditional press events.
Nintendo Direct started in 2011 and has since become the primary way Nintendo shares its big announcements about franchises like Mario, Zelda, and Pokémon. The format is popular for revealing new game trailers, launch dates, special collaborations, and surprise announcements, generating excitement among fans and quickly creating social media buzz.
Special editions, such as the Partner Showcase, focus on games developed by third-party companies rather than Nintendo’s studios. This includes indie developers as well as major publishers like Capcom, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, and many others. Note: Almost all the games mentioned above are releasing on other platforms as well. These include PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

Summary
Nintendo Switch 2 is finally underway. Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase announced over 20 third-party games coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Developers and publishers such as Bandai Namco Entertainment, Ubisoft, Capcom, Electronic Arts, and others will release Switch and Switch 2 versions of their titles in 2025 and 2026. Meanwhile, three, except for all other games, did not receive a specific release date yet. These will likely be announced shortly. Besides some anticipated and paid titles such as Borderlands 4, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, and more, it also featured a free-to-play game called Apex Legends.
