AFK Journey Hero Roles Explained
To build the best AFK Journey team, you will require more knowledge than simply knowing about the best heroes. You see, each hero in the game is assigned a specific role according to which they are placed in the team. Further, each role has their own strengths and weaknesses. Understanding about each hero’s roles is crucial to team-building. Don’t worry, we got your backs! AFK Journey hero roles are as follows:
- DPS – If you want to deal damage to enemies, then having a certain amount of damage dealers (DPS) is necessary. These heroes have only 1 job – to deal as much damage as possible in the shortest time period. Yes, they are squishy and lack high defensive attributes but their base attack and attack speed are the highest in the game.
- Specialist – These heroes are utility-types. Meaning, specialist heroes provide the team with powerful offensive and defensive buffs. They can also inflict core debuffs on the enemy to crowd-control them for long durations. 1 or 2 specialist heroes are seen in every top AFK Journey team.
- Support – As the name itself might give away, these heroes offer the team crucial buffs and heals. Their only duty is to keep your allies alive with continued sustenance and HP recovery. Some supports can also double down as debuffers, provided the right set-up.
- Tank – Another classic role seen in almost every RPG. Tank heroes form the core frontline of your AFK Journey teams. It’s recommended to put at least 1 tank hero in the team for a smooth-sailing journey. They absorb and mitigate incoming damage like true beasts of nature, offering crucial protection to the squishy backline members.
AFK Journey Tier List Factors
While forming our AFK Journey tier list, we took into account several important factors. Everybody starts off somewhere, so we started looking at the important areas where heroes are used. To determine their individual strength, more factors kept popping up. In conclusion, this tier list formed based on these factors:
- Rarity – The base rarity of heroes is the first factor we looked at. Rarity is important because the base stats of heroes depend on it. A higher rarity hero will always have more base stats than a lower rarity hero.
- Versatility – Heroes come in a lot of variety in AFK Journey. We studied deeply as to which heroes perform well in different game modes. The heroes who excelled at all the game modes were given a higher rating. Of course, we also have individual tier lists for the game modes as seen above.
- Community Rankings – It’s futile to make a tier list if you do not take into account what the community thinks about the heroes. After all, they are the ones who actually play the game. Hence, we also referred to several community-made tier lists while forming our own.
