7 Days to Die: 15 Pro Tips and Tricks

Hello, fellow survivors! If you are reading this, chances are you are deep in the post-apocalyptic world of 7 Days to Die, scampering for tips to make your journey easier while busting those zombies. Do not worry! We have 15 tips and tricks to help you thrive in this challenging game.

Junk Everything You Can

As you explore the ruined world in 7 Days to Die, there will be a lot of junk materials to get in your way: empty cans, doorknobs, old books—you know how it goes. Don’t look over your shoulder on such things; scrap them! That way, you can get valuable materials to aid you in crafting or smelting in the forge. This also goes for old weapons and armour. Scrapping these will give you parts for crafting better equipment.

Selling Books

While it can be tempting to read every single book and magazine you come across in search of perk points, consider that selling them might prove more useful. Not all perks are helpful, depending on how your character is built. Selling books can provide a lot of money to purchase rare resources, such as books on crafting or other valuable materials. Also, ensure you’ve checked for books you have previously read before rereading them; you will need more than just reading duplicates.

Survive the Early Game with Overpowered Weapons

First and foremost, you’d want to arm yourself with the best weaponry possible. In doing so, the sledgehammer, pistol, and blunderbuss will be your best friends. The sledgehammer does wonders when you stun the zombies with headshots; the pistol will do if you’re panicking, and the blunderbuss knocks multiple down simultaneously. If you get any of these weapons in the game’s early stages, you should hold on to them!

Rooftop Farming is the Future

After you have secured a base, start farming on your roof. It’s pretty and keeps your crops safe from those hungry zombies at night. Building Farm Plots requires you to gather Rotting Flesh, Nitrate Powder found in the desert biome, and Clay Soil that you can find near water bodies in the forest biome. You will be harvesting your crops on your rooftop farm in no time!

Mine Your Own Business

Gathering resources can be a hassle in 7 Days to Die, so get a good pickaxe first. This will help you quickly harvest stone, nitrate, coal, and iron. Put points into Miner 69er and Motherlode for additional mining buffs. Trust me, you’ll love those extra little boosts when you’re stuck traversing through levels looking for more materials.

Don’t Forget Your Wrench

Always carry a Wrench (or later, a Ratchet or Impact Driver) with you to dismantle the broken electronics worldwide. This will yield valuable resources like gas, engines, and mechanical parts necessary for crafting highly advanced projects.

How to Deal with Vultures

Some of the most frustrating enemies that one can encounter in this game are the zombie vultures. They’re fast, can infect you with diseases, and most of the time, they seem to pop out from nowhere. Always have a quick-firing gun, like a pistol, to deal with these. You will need to spray many bullets to keep track of their erratic movement. Also, always bring some honey and antibiotics to treat possible infections by such creatures.

Split the Responsibilities with Friends

You can enjoy most of it with some friends in 7 Days to Die. Go ahead, split the duties between your group to really cruise through survival—let one guy be a builder, another a farmer, and so on. Dividing skill points between players will make progression faster and easier in figuring out who gets what loot.

Good Base Selection

While it is possible to construct a base from scratch, refurbishing most of the buildings is much easier and will save you loads of headaches. The supermarkets that line the roads make for suitable bases early in the game. They have large rooms, which can be tailored to your specifications, and flat roofs for patrolling. Renovating these buildings will save you time and resources.

Knowing What’s Valuable

Traders are indispensable in buying rare items and quests. Learn what items are valuable to sell to traders, such as old cash, which you can trade at a 1:1 ratio; old guns; medicinal items; and oil. Knowing what to sell will help you gather the resources you need faster.

Stay Well-Equipped

Always carry two different ranged weapons and one melee weapon for combat. This way, with the two ranged weapons, you will not run out of ammo and will always have a close-combat option if needed. Knives are also underrated; they are used to hunt and harvest meat and leather and break up zombie vultures for feathers.

Stay Illuminated

This will help you light up your base during the night, making it feel more homely and easy to spot the zombies. Wiretools and Electric Timer Relays can be used efficiently for setting up lighting systems. Keep the peripheral areas around your base lighted so the zombies approaching you can easily be zeroed in upon.

Keep Production Away from Home

In 7 Days to Die, many actions and items produce “heat,” which draws zombies. Keep your heavy-duty production area (forge, workbench, cement mixer) away from your main base to avoid drawing too much attention. This will keep your base much safer during horde nights.

Use Minibike Storage

Instead of investing in Pack Mule, prepare a minibike. It offers fast travel and has storage, so it’s more advantageous in terms of spending skill points. You can store extra loot in the minibike, making your journeys more productive.

Surviving in 7 Days to Die can be stressful, but remember to have Fun! Feel free to explore, experiment, and enjoy the adrenaline rush of surviving against all odds. With these tips in your arsenal, you’re off to a great start toward becoming a master survivor.
