1. Water
One of the biggest weaknesses of Endermen is their disdain for water, as you can observe them struggling to teleport around water and when it rains they take damage from it hindering their abilities.
Bucket of Water: Carry a bucket of water with you. When you encounter an Enderman, place the water near it. The Enderman will take damage and will continuously teleport away. Follow the Enderman and keep placing water near it until it dies.
Water Stream: Create a controlled water stream or puddle in an area where you frequently encounter Endermen. Lure the Enderman into the water to deal continuous damage.
2. Shelter Strategy
Build a Shelter: Construct a simple shelter that is two blocks high with a roof over it. The roof will prevent the Enderman from reaching you because they are three blocks tall.
Provoke the Enderman: Look directly at the Enderman to provoke it. Once it becomes hostile, quickly move under your shelter.
Attack from Safety: While standing under the shelter, the Enderman will try to reach you but will be unable to due to the low roof. This allows you to attack it safely with a sword or other melee weapon. Be patient and continue attacking until the Enderman is defeated.
3. Boat Trap
In Minecraft, Boats can be used for more than one purpose and it has become a highly efficient tool for older fans of the series when it comes to dealing with threats. When boats are placed on ground, any mob who walks through them will get stuck inside the boat unable to move in our out of it again. This strategy can also be used on the Endermen
Place the Boat: Place the boat on the ground near the Enderman. It’s best to do this in an open area to make sure the Enderman doesn’t teleport away before getting trapped.
Provoke the Enderman: Look directly at the Enderman to provoke it. Endermen become hostile when looked at and will come towards you.
Lure the Enderman: Position yourself so that the Enderman moves towards the boat. The Enderman will try to attack you and, in the process, get into the boat. Once in the boat, the Enderman will be trapped and unable to teleport away.
Attack: With the Enderman trapped in the boat, you can safely attack it with your sword. The Enderman will be unable to escape or teleport, making it easy to defeat.
Bonus Tips
- Use enchanted or diamond swords for maximum effectiveness.
- Always keep a plentiful supply of food and healing items on hand.
- Wear protective armour while hunting Endermen.
- Wearing a carved pumpkin on your head prevents Endermen from becoming hostile when you look at them.
