Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is coming on 11th February 2025 and it’s got us very excited. Civilization is a popular award-winning, city-building franchise that lets you create your own city and lead it like a boss. It involves history, culture, economy, and various other concepts. You will engage in exciting battles and lead your people to victory. Furthermore, this new chapter also features many new upgrades that make it better than its predecessors. Let’s check out what to expect from Civilization VII upgrades.

Upgrades in Civilization VII
Civilization VII features many new and exciting upgrades. This chapter is already being considered the best installment in the franchise.
Only 3 Ages
Unlike the previous games where you had several ages to choose from like Ancient, Classical, and Medieval, now you have only 3. These include Antiquity, Exploration, and Modern. Each one has its own unique civilizations, tech, and upgrades for you to explore. You will choose a new civilization when you enter a new age. Each age will have its own set of civilizations to pick from.
Towns
Cities have been replaced with towns. Initially, you will now establish towns instead of cities. You can use Gold to buy units and buildings in towns. Towns can also be upgraded to cities by spending Gold, but the cost goes up if you already have more cities.

Influence System
A new concept called the Influence System has been added. This is a new resource for diplomatic actions like gaining loyalty from city-states, making military pacts, or sanctioning other civilizations. Moreover, you can use Influence to avoid bad outcomes, like preventing another leader from disliking you more.
Unit Modifications
Military units can now build small fortifications by themselves. Scouts can now build temporary watchtowers to extend their view range. A new unit type called Commander has been added. This unit gives orders to other units. Furthermore, units can also be placed inside Commanders and moved together as a group, and then released at the destination.

Multiplayer Mode
You can enjoy the multiplayer mode in Sid Meier’s Civilization VII by competing against other online players. The battles can be played in multi-age campaigns or a single Age. This is amazing as you can play with your friends on PC or consoles as cross-play is available. Furthermore, this will be a great way to showcase your talent and upgrade your skills, having a great time with other online players.
Navigable Rivers
Rivers are now navigable and can be crossed by units. This makes scope for new exploration possibilities, allowing for easier access to different areas. Rivers can now be used as a natural path for visiting various destinations on the map.
Mix and Match Leaders
Leaders no longer need to match their civilizations. You can choose any leader for any civilization when starting your game. You can pair leaders with different civilizations to create your dream empire. For example, you could team up Caesar Augustus with Mongol warriors and try out cool new strategies.

Architecture
The city tiles are now divided into two categories: Urban and Rural. You can pick one as per your requirements. Warehouse buildings have been added which have their own ways of functioning. Plus, you can now make walls in every urban town. If another party wants to take over your town, they will have to tear down all your walls and fortifications.

Resources
Gathering resources is a vital part of the game. Resources can now be assigned to cities and towns, providing bonuses to them. This allows you to improve specific aspects of your cities. By assigning resources wisely, you can enhance production, defense, or other key areas to strengthen your civilization.
Improved Graphics
If you see the trailer and images of Civilization VII, it is evident that the graphics, visuals, and character designs are enhanced and improved. This makes the game world and the environment much more interesting and fun to play.

These Civilization VII upgrades are sure to improve the overall gameplay. Gamers always want new enhancements in new installments and that’s what we’re getting.
